Terrible gig story...

Wednsday night I played a show here in Austin. Everything was perfectly normal business as usual. I drank my normal couple of pints and it was time to set up. It was really hot, but no hotter than usual. I began sweating profusely, and started to cramp. Two songs into the set I blacked out. I have no memory of the show, or being picked up by my girlfriend. She knew I wasn't that drunk. My pupils were huge, and I was mumbling incoherently.. I laid in bed till 5 am slurring and drifting in and out of consciousness. I woke up at about 3pm, very freaked out and cramping all over. I headed to the pharmacy and bought a drug test. I popped for GHB!! I got freakin dosed! I'm sure it was meant for a female I was drinking next to. Keep an eye on those drinks, folks! I am glad I got it, and not her. Be careful out there. Thanks for reading. Bb

I'm glad you're okay, and to be honest I'm glad that it happened to you instead of the girl it was meant for.

I was actually roofied once in almost exactly the same manner. New Years Eve party at a trendy nightclub with a handful of popular EDM DJ's and a "Hollywood" vibe. They were passing out champagne right before midnight and I took one from the bar. Everything goes hazy and black at that point and I wake up on New Year's Day evening in my apartment. No idea how I got there but I had my wallet and everything in it so I think a police officer or Good Samaritan got me home. It wasn't a great experience but I'm glad that if it had to happen it happened to me instead of the girl it was intended for.

Actually saw a guy that roofied a drink once. I guess his plan didn't work so he comes over from the bar, puts down the drink on my table and tells my friends and I "don't drink that beer, it's got roofies in it" and runs toward the door. This "got my Irish up" and I was fighting mad so I took off after him, but the problem with being 250 lbs and only powerlifting and strength training is that I'm not very fast. He got away into an alley which was very lucky for him but I never saw him again in that bar. I still wonder if he knows how close he came to ending up in ICU.

I don't talk to police, ever. I'm in Austin, so it is a problem, has been for decades. I've narrowed down who it could have been. The punk community is pretty tight here and there were just a coupe that didn't quite belong.

I understand your concern, but what if this guy (I will make an assumption) is going around doing this and violating women? I doubt this is an isolated incident. Maybe the local women's center could be a go-between.

Rape is nothing to @$@!$@!% around with.

He probably is, it happens all the time here. There are about 40 people actively looking for him. When he's found, he won't be able to use his limbs for a long time. I do not talk to cops, nothing good can come from it. They're not going to go out and search for him. Too many easy targets here like public intoxication, jay walking, DUI, etc..

I don't know the OP, but these are often the same people who complain because the police never do anything about crime. How sad that being part of the punk 'wall of silence' is more important preventing women getting raped. :rollno:
