Hey, now that's a smart new feature! I guess every time someone types "in-your-face" in a post, it automatically inserts an @Don Kasper hyperlink. Way to go, TB!

I think the pickguard might even be tortHEY! Yeah! I'm talkin' to you, SlabBoi. This is the Double Bass side of TalkBass! Not 2 P basses, I said "DOUBLE BASS!" - the "Big Violin" thingy. (No, it does not have frets, or a pickguard, or come in Seafoam Green.)
Don't go away mad, just go away.
(fixed it for ya'.)
Very welcomed! Thanks to @Don Hergert for the clarification (post #12).
Hmm, I have and play two from that category. Being polite, I just prefer not to talk about them here, having an Alcoa, I try not to press my luck.... the outliers: bass banjos, bassoguitars, mandobasses, washtub basses, Mongolian khuurs, etc. ...
Thank you!Very welcomed!

Understood, and no blame attaches to you for it. Me, being from the wrong side of the tracks, labor under no such scruples and am limited by no such discretion. It can be quite liberating. It also gets the bulk of my threads completely ignored.Very welcomed!

LOL. I definitely caught that line!It also gets the bulk of my threads completely ignored.
Where's the joy in addressing issues and solving them? Way more fun to complain....I guess I really don’t understand why someone gets “lost”. I think it took maybe a week to get the site organized so that it acts like my previous access. I access from both desktop and phone, it just isn’t that hard…
I think the main cause is people reply to thread titles and don't read the posts. Anything to prevent this is welcome, it will never eliminate it as long as people don't read the posts, though...which will be as long as there is an internet.I guess I really don’t understand why someone gets “lost”. I have to admit that there are plenty of times when getting rid of the Internet seems like a good idea.....I think the main cause is people reply to thread titles and don't read the posts. Maybe a right hand thumbprint scan to verify that you have that ugly callous from pulling against the fingerboard?
Yes; “Double Bass” spelled out doesn’t leave enough room in the title to get an idea of what the post is about.Hey @TroyK,
The "Double Bass" prefix was OK in small doses during testing, but is pretty obtrusive en masse. A few suggestions:
Then, all that remains is to split the BG/DB classifieds and return them their proper homes, under their respective Forum Lists, and all will be well!
- Shorten to "DB"
- Use a more subtle color, like a medium-to-dark gray. Dark blue is already in use as a button color, so using it again for these prefixes (which share the same basic shape as a button) may create confusion.
