TEXAS BASSISTS UNITE...

While I'm not all that close to either Houston or Dallas (5 hours, and 2 hours) i do own 320 acres, you could all pitch tents....my closest neighbor is a mile away and i have a coverd porch with plenty of electrical plugs.....and since this is Texas i have a BBQ Grill you can put half a side of beef on at one time.....and i even have the beef wandering around the pasture....as well as a 6 acre pond stocked with fish, and a few paddle boats....you could run around here naked and nobody would notice.....

but you would have to BYOB

You are near me, ain't ya? That's about the time-frame of travel to those cities, respectively, for us. Maybe you're a lil north of us?

got plenty of snakes here!!!! but most of them are safely behind cage doors...lol I make a fairly decent profit every year off selling baby snakes that are bred here...

i run into the odd snake in the field now and then, as well as around the pond....been here 7 years and only run into a cottonmouth once, however the copperheads are a whole other story....lol

you guys decide to get serious let me know...

I know your trying to be funny, but I'm a bit of a tree hugger and reptiles are my forte (herpetologist here)...so if by target practice you mean me plinking at you while you run...then yeah...lol....not to mention one of those turtles is protected by law here....

Yeah, trying was the word :D. I like turtles, alot actually. I've tried to bring a few home, that I've found on the side of the road, but my wife won't let me. FWIW, I think what you have going on there a great thing.

Besides, I'm way too out of shape to run

Hey Fish,

PM Mjolnir i think he was the one passing them out...lol

I see your using Genz Benz I'm lookig at replacing my Carvin BX-600 with a GBE-600...which model are you using? how has it been for you?

again, any time you guys decide to get serious...let me know i'll be here all summer!

Love the Genz Benz gear. I have a GBE 1200 head. It has EQ options out the wazoo, 2 channels (tube pre and SS)and a global signal shaping section that can add a lot of overall flavor to both channels if you switch back and forth (I typically use either or...and waffle back and forth on which I like best). It will also do 2 ohms all day long, and depending on the size of the venue, I use it with a varity of cabs (Genz Benz NEO 212T, Ashdown 4x10, Ampeg 4x10 , Ampeg 6x10, Mesa 1x15, Mesa 2x10). I really think it sounds great with pretty much any combination of these cabs..a lot of different tonal options...

I played a gig this weekend and used a new Fender rig as backline (because it was there, and well, Fender sponsored the stage). It was their new "high power head" and a Fender 8x10 cab. Man, I was not digging that rig at all...Nothing against Fender in general, but I couldn't get a decent tone (IMO) out it to save my life...it lacked any articulation at all, and the cab was farting like crazy...and the cab was mic'd. We were in one of those situations where they were just "shotgunning" bands up and there was really no time to work on anything...It was just plug in and go....

As a witness to this gig, I have to agree with the above. Add to that a poor mix, and the bass was missed through most of the set. Awesome band though :D
