TEXAS BASSISTS UNITE...

I'm completely down for a Houston gtg, I however can offer no meeting place due to a tiny dorm room.

And for god's sake, this is Texas! We don't need guards to drink. Alcohol is like water. Texas is the southern Ireland!

Cept we probably shouldn't break city ordinances.

I'm in the same boat you are. I could prolly fit all of us in my apartment but it'd look something like that stupid college thing where they try to stick as many people as they can into a phone booth...

The pavilion idea might be the best bet.

Some old fashioned Texas BBQ at the pavilions perhaps? I know they at least have grills at most of them. Let's just make this super stereotypical

Edit: You know what would be amazing, Hickory Hollow. If you guys haven't been, it's the best BBQ in the city, in my opinion. They can easily deal with lots of people too. That's only if you guys feel like spending money on food though

I'll bet y'all can find a park within reasonable distance that isn't in Harris County. Surely there's someplace left in the Houston area where you don't need watchin' by the po-leece to drink!

Good Lord, what is our state coming to? A guard...:scowl:

Hoping you find a good venue for your gtg...

Cherie

The guard is so people don't steal the booze, I guess...:eyebrow:

What about Galveston County? There should be places to host down there, and it's not far. Plus, there is access to the beach, so when it warms up, people could send their families to the beach for a little R&R if that's a concern. Might be worth checking out. Just my suggestion.

Hey Houston TB'ers,

My band's show at SHFL on April 4th was just canceled due to the city busting SHFL's asses about permits. We're looking for another place to play that weekend and we'd like to bring one band from that show with us, since they're a touring act and really need the gig. If anyone has some contacts that could help me out, please let me know. It's rock/indie sort of lineup.

I'm in Houston...

I have a Yamaha TRB1005 5-string bass and an Acoustic AB50 amp. I'm new to the bass, so besides a newly acquired Fender jazz bass, a metronome, and a Boss pedal tuner, that's all I have as far as equipment. but like every musician, I already have my eye on 500 other things I 'need'
