TEXAS BASSISTS UNITE...

Leander, TX, NW of Austin. We're in the Sandy Creek area, between Leander and Jonestown.

Main project is Jul & The Chrome Wheels (Link Removed)

Secondary project (when the singer visits from Cali) is The Knowbodys (Link Removed)

I also work with a semi-acoustic small combo known as The Chix. Classic rock, and country (old-school and grassroots alternative...think Steve Earle and Kelly Willis, not Big & Rich). They trade off between myself and another bassist, since I have had a busy schedule with Chrome Wheels.

As you can tell, I'm working in mostly blues and classic rock, and alt/garage when the KB's are together. I love punk, and metal, etc., but I haven't played it with a band...I save that for my practice room, when I'm just having fun and stretching my skills.

I play a Waterstone Lulu, and also own an Avondale acoustic bass, an Ibanez GSR-190 and an Austin 5-string. I also own, and sometimes play, a mandolin, a piano, and a couple of guitars.

As for amplification, I have a Fender Rumbler 60w, and an SWR 2004 head with a Behringer 4x10 cab. I've also got a tiny little Crate practice amp, for at home.

Depending on how my day-job goes, I plan to take on more music work this fall.

NW Houston (Spring)

I'm currently playing in a classic rock band (Link Removed) and thinking about joining a horn band a friend is starting up

I play mostly G&Ls with skinny necks with the occasional Rumblefish & Steinberger Spirit thrown in for fun

I was in Spring too. My grandparent's actually know Mark from your band too.

Anyway, I'm in houston, at UH right now.
Playing with a hard rock band called Below the Water's Edge

Denton Tx, just North of Dallas and Fort Worth.

Playing in two classic/old rock bands, none gigging at the moment.

My drummer husband is from The Woodlands, right up the road from you. He takes me to Papa's every time we go to Houston...yes, either of them. ;)

Denver City, TX. About an hour and a half south, south-west of Lubbock.
Recently moved back to Texas after three years in California.
Lots of gear, no gig. (Very little time for gigs, and from past experience, very few musicians in the area to gig with.)

Yeah...that's a bit far from Lubbock to be going to practice and play, and I'd imagine that's where most of the area's live music is, no?

Also in Denton (north of Dallas/Ft. Worth).
Hey, Wademeister, we should meet up!

Gig: primarily church, looking for other outlets, though.

Gear: Way more than I need, but hey, I don't play golf or hunt much anymore... :D
Nordstrand NX6, Skjold 6 (two more Skjolds in the works:hyper:), EBMM Stingray 5 HS, Sadowsky MV5, Lakland DJ5 hotrodded with Audere pre and Nordstrand pickups, iAmp800, Bergantino cabs, assorted other stuff (rack gear, PA gear, etc).

Arlington TX, here but we play mostly in Dallas and sometimes in the surrounding city's

The primary band I play in is Stag Film a sleazy little duo
Sometimes I do a jazzy little downbeat set that doesn't have a name

Tools I use is an 82 rick 4003 and an 88 wick fna

At the moment we are saving for a trailer so we can get out of town easier.

Corsicana here. An hour south of Dallas, hour east of Waco, 3 to Houston and two to Tyler. I'm kinda in the middle :D

Play in church only at the moment. Hey, the kids have to rock too, ya know? I also goof off with the Black Market Teddy Bears, doing Christian pop stuff.

Fender Steve Harris P (mostly modded) into whatever amp or cab I have on loan from Razor at the moment, with a '60's Bassman on tap also. Too many effects at any given moment, most of which I built or modded.

I seem to always have waayyy too many things going on at one time :D

Location: League City about 40 min SE of Houston.

Main gig: On rotation with my church praise band. We play some good contemporary arrangements and the community is great. Haven't been very active in club bands since transferring down from the Chicago area in '94 but hope to start playing some outside gigs. Currently working on putting a small practice studio together.

Bass rig: Lakland 55-94 and Roscoe SKB3005 basses, Eden WT800B amp, Demeter HBP-1 preamp, Crest CA9 amp, pair of Bergantino HT322 cabs, GK 1001RB 210 combo w/ RBH115 extension cab.
