I have EMGs on many of my basses and this latest one is no exception.
This time I had some problems with a defective noisy pickup and low output. Then it turned out that by choosing an X series pickup I had made the wrong choice for what I wanted.
Over the last couple of months I ended up getting two sets of pickups made by EMG at no charge to me for this bass. The people at EMG are so nice and they totally go out of their way to make their customers happy. Even a "Nobody" like me. Just amazing! And now I have the right pickups in my bass and they sound great.
So: Thank you very much to Allison and Eric at EMG!!!!

Years ago, I started an "EMG Club" thread in this forum, mostly because I was so impressed with the level of service and support I've received over the years from that company. They truly are top-notch.

I was never a fan of EMG until I tried the Geezer pickup. Oh man did they ever nail the p tone I was looking for. They're in two of my p basses now.

There are a great company. I wish they'd offer more vintage style pickups since it what I usually aim for. But yeah the Geezer is a good start.

I agree. I have two basses for which EMG doesn't make a pickup. Those Basses have Nordies in them, with Bartolini Preamps

40P5s in my 5 string. Still using my old 87 XM2TT with original HB-SS...40P5 is fairly close to that in 5 string soapbar...
