He started hating them in his previous life. He was an octopus back then. I have a feeling that's how he died in his last life.
Draper certainly got away with one there. Should have been called.
There has been an abundance of missed calls on both sides. In every game, there's been something that should have been called, but wasn't. This applies to both sides. I distinctly recall seeing Ott whack Holmstrom in the back of the legs about four times in one sequence. That should have been called, too.
I guess my beef is that there's no consistency. I recognize that the referees are human and miss things, as well as make mistakes, but my hope is that, regardless of the team, the player, or the time of the game, a penalty should be a penalty.
I'm a Wings fan, for what it's worth, but I hate to see the sport cheapened by these things.

Gary Bettman is just a poor old vampire who loves to count.

Gary Bettman is a typical Lawyer, and lawyers are never wrong. He is a complete arse. It was a goal, no question. At least the NBA who have plenty of lousy officials, still will admit when one obviously gets it wrong. The other question I have is why is (in the crease) not reviewable? The crease is a curved line, their is NO way an official can get it right all the time unless he's in a tower over the net.
The Red Wings didn't lose the game because of that call, but the ironic thing is one of the Stars goals they were in the crease and no call.
I am going to summarize every Bad Brain's posts regarding hockey in this one. This is service i provide for BB for free to save him time and effort. From now on all he needs to-do is link this post in his hockey post with out saying any extra words.
On to summarization: "15 years ago hockey was so much better then now, even though i was like 4 at time, it was sooo much better. Hockey today sucks, 15 years ago it was awesome. Now: sucks, 15 years ago: GREAT! I hate hockey! Hockey was ruined for me 15 years ago, because it was great then, but now... sucks!"
You're welcome buddy, i am here to please.
Well, I'm hoping my prediction of Wings in 6 is proven correct. The Wings seemed to be playing both scared and sloppy in game 5. If Dallas pulls it out tonight, I've got a sinking feeling they'll pull it out in 7, for the first time in 33 years overcoming a 3-0 deficit. No, I'm not bailing on the wings, but the team was looking ripe for the upset. If they don't come out hard and weather the storm early they're in deep trouble.
All I ask is that the reffing is consistent and fair for both sides. With the weather forecast being in the 90's in Dallas, the ice conditions are likely to be less than stellar, which doesn't help a puck possession team like the Wings.
Congrats to the Pens for winning the battle of PA.

Is it just me, or have these playoffs been going on for months?
Since early April. One of the reasons I like hockey, there is a lot of it.![]()
