The 2008 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

Bruins finally win one...maybe the puck will start bouncing for them now. They needed to have their luck changed.

I disagree I want the bruins to win more than anyone.... but

They got their asses kicked in the first one, Played well but blew by taking to many stupid and one borderline bad call at crunch time in the second. Luck had nothing to do with that.

Aj

what is this madness... you just banned yourself from MSG my friend! :D

Sorry man, but I truly have blue blood, from birth. Rangers till death, for sure. Die hard without a doubt. But, some of the best games I've EVER seen are between those two teams. You've got to respect the Devils. Tell me that you didn't root for them in the finals when they were there, and the Rangers were out.

I root for whoever plays against them... watching Colorado beat them in the finals at home a few years ago was one of my most memorable experiences. Carolina erasing them was a joy to watch. In sports terms, I truly hate them, Martin Brodeur is possibly my most hated player in the league, but Cindy is catching up fast with his similar tactics. I would never go so far as to say I even respect them, even a little bit, I don't.

I can respect that. I'll never direct hate to any team to the degree that I direct it at the Flyers and Islanders. To me, those are the historic rivals. Dave Schultz, Dennis Potvin, Hextall, etc... My roots go way back, but I assume I'm much older than you. If you're a NY sports fan, across the board, that's like the Cowboys, Eagles, Red Sox. I'm talking voodoo dolls, burned in effigy.

I'm actually 39, but I came to the US in 1991 and met my wife in 94 and she is Finnish and a huge hockey fan, big Tikkanen fan. So she got me into hockey, I can skate, and I played field hockey, so I got into playing... and here I am.

I see that you're in Oyster Bay. I learned to skate at the outdoor (covered) rink there. Is it still there?

No, not that I know of... you can skate on the pond every now and then which is fun... I played at Iceland mostly, pick up games that some of my Finn friends invited me to, and pick up roller hockey in Lindenhurst, down by the water. Greatest game, for fun and fitness. My wife is a killer defenseman, fast fast skater, great with the stick and tough, and if you do manage to get past her she'll hack at your ankles all the way... you play?

Philly is surprising me... caps need to get it together...

Go Flyers!!!!!!

I've been through thick and thin with this team......Last year was no fun. I'm really glad to see them doing well this year, post 82 games.

To see Richards get that goal on that penalty shot was unbelievable, and the celebration afterwards was equal. It's good to see Kapi get a goal and Briere get two.
