The 4000 Watt Question is.....

Well don't stop there...split your signal into 4, buy 4 really expensive bass preamps, and run each one into a channel in your amp, and you will have ultimate quad tone control as well as the ability to make bats fall from the sky.

Is it a Carvin DCM4000 power amp?

MM

nope.. it's actually a car stereo amp that somebody at my work found in the parking lot and gave to me. surprisingly it sounds great. now i just have to figure out a way to mount it in a rack with some cooling fans and i'm all set!

P.S. anybody know of any reliability issues i may have down the road with using a car amp? thanks

4000 Watts into 4 8x10's? crazy? insane? spinal tap?

i have the power amp and have only been running one of the 4 channels (1000 watts) and it rocks soo hard:bassist:. i really want to experement with this amp but i don't have the cabs to do it with..

oh well! a man can wish, cant he?:D

What's the combined power handling capability of your 8x10s?

Theoretically, 4,000 watts should yield twice the volume (into the same load) as 400 watts, just as a 400-watt amp should deliver twice the volume of a 40-watt amp.
