The 5-String club Part 2

Has anyone picked up a new 5-string lately?
Yup. Picked up a Peavey Grind BXP a few days ago. Played it Sunday for P&W and it sat in the mix amazingly well. First thing when the service was done a lady walked up and said "That bass sounded amazing out front today." This is one of the Praise singers who happened to be not on the platform at the end of service. A couple other bass players tried it after service and were amazed that something with pickups that hot wasn't active.
Bottom line: it plays great and sounds better. Awesome enough that I'm leaving my 60th Anniversary MIA P-Bass Deluxe 5 string home for the next few weeks so this baby can get some playing time.
I'll get some pictures up as soon as I get some taken. Just moved into my new house and I haven't found the camera yet.

Could I get a number?

I just got this SX 5 string fretless for $70 off CL and just installed some MEC pups that came with it. Its a great playing instrument and its definitely a keeper.

I just ordered a red tortoise pick guard for it. Can't wait to install it when it gets here. I'll update with pics.

The strap was custom made by a friend of mine. The character is "Harmony".

I'm joining the club.
My primary weapon is a Fodera NYC.
Then there is my Tune Bass Maniac which was defretted some 20 years ago. I rarely play it anymore.
My backup is my old Fender P '67 with Seymour Duncan active PUs from back in the 80s. Yes I know - shouldn't have replaced the original PU!

Cheers

#506 Ricki_bass_DK - Awesome Fodera! I've read good reviews about Tune basses, but hadn't a chance to try one yet. That's a great Fender in your collection as well. Did you at least keep the original '67 pickups in case you want to return them someday?

Thank you - the Tune is ok i guess. Not the kind of sound for this decade....or the previous one for that matter. The string spacing is very narrow, and it is almost impossible to switch between the Tune and the Fodera on a gig.
As for the '67 PU I unfortunately misplaced it at some point over the years. Hopefully somebody is enjoying the sweet sound of the good old days.

@Ricki_bass_DK: Re the Tune bass: Nothing wrong with a narrow string spacing. I've owned an Ibanez SR885 for approximately 19 years.

No - I agree! I used to play an ESP Horizon fiver which had a string spacing much like The Tune. I'm just saying that it is very difficult to switch between my Fodera NYC and The Tune BECAUSE of the difference between The two.

I picked up my first 5, a Zon Sonus Custom, a month or so ago from The Bass Place, and it changed my life. Definitely sticking with the 5s from here in - it makes it so much easier to play in any position without moving my hand around much!

here it is :
