The 5th string.....

I have this amazing new bass but its a 5 string apperantly the person we bought it from and added another string not to mention he made a case for it ( its irritateingly heavy) And I dont know how to tune a 5 string except by ear and thats rather hard, any ideas????

unless I'm mistaken they tune the same way as a 4 string, hold the 5th string at the 5th fret (if it's a low B) and tune it to the forth string.
