Wholly cows!!!! Is that the norm for most equipment to be about three times the cost in Europe vs the USA?

Maybe not three times, but definitely more expensive than in the USA. The price difference in new stuff is not so clear, but it's there too. Old gear is significantly more expensive here, especially the gear made in the US of A.

edit. Slight correction; it's the 402 cabinet i'm offered not the 406.

ok so considering you've told us about the difference in cost of USA vs Finland, I would say it's a good deal if everything is functioning well. The 406 is a great cab and even though I've never owned a 220, I own it's big brother (320) and big sister (330 and they are really really amazing amps.

I own a 320 and it is a killer amp. I wish I had an opportunity to buy a 406.

already have a # (305), but just picked up a B220 head as back up for my 150 /106 rig. Had to put the 150 in shop for a little problem, this B220 even though it's a Wagner era, is still a frellin' monster. My 150 has a much warmer tone, the B220 has more punch.

I don't know about Finland, but here in Sweden a 220 in excellent condition (no missing parts, no significant damage to the tolex) is around SEK 2500 (currently c:a USD 380) and a ditto 406 with original drivers around SEK 3000 (c:a USD 450), i.e. a total of SEK 5500 (USD 830). Personally I wouldn't go above SEK 6000 (USD 900) for a rig in near mint condition.

Hello Everyone,

WOW! I am amazed we've had this Acoustic Club thread going for now 4 years straight! It's been so much fun to see the diverse array of players and folks who use Acoustic amps in so many situations and such.

Well folks, a time has come when I realized that I just don't have the time to devote to this wonderful club/thread that I once did, owing to a new job that I love and various other factors. In essence, I am wanting and needing to hand the reigns over to someone new.

SOOOO, I am wondering if there is anyone here in the fray that would like to take over the Acoustic Club, handing out numbers maintaining it, and all that.

Please PM me if you want to take over.

I'll still poke my beak in every so often. And thank you ALL for making this thread extra cool and extra special through 4 years and as many editions. You are thunderously cool, all of you!

This would put an emphasis on the "magic" numbers and remind newcomers of the club of the existence of the unofficial homepage (with more info about the amps than most ever asked for...) . Of course one must first check with the TB admins that this is in compliance with the rules here.

Something sounded off all practice yesterday and it wasnt my guitarist amps or guitar for once...We actually worked out all his issues with his stuff, new cables, a new pickup ring on his guitar.

No, it was me, at first I thought it was my WUMBO muff, it sounded very sputtery and had an unpleasant trebly splat/bark. Tried my colossus, same deal. Its then when i noticed my 220 didnt even sound right just straight in, its dull, no definition. And just as we were ending practice, like the last note, it cut out, not suddenly, it just faded out and back in. When I turned it off the was some static and noises on power down.

Great, this has to happen days before a show...and i was even planning on taking it in when my guitarist leaves for Colorado for vacation after this weekend to have it gone through. It couldnt hold on for one more week.

used my Wagner era B220 head with my 106 cab for the first time at a gig Friday night. Did OK, but I missed my 150 terribly(it's going next time). Had an idea to try the B220 head into my B200 combo, what suggested hook-up config, would any you folks think may be most efficient? Or is this even a good thought?

Just pick-up a Acoustic 136 combo off craigslist from the original owner. I believe a 1976 model -15" speaker. This unit is a 9 out of 10
as to the shape it is in. One small piece of covering was ripped. but still there at the bottom. A little rust on the corner guards. She cleaned up nice and looks almost new.
I gave $100. for it. Only drawback - 85 lbs. Casters are coming....
How about a number?

Love my 370. Had my 230 for a while, totally different tonal palate in my opinion. As far as I know, the 220 and 230 are exactly the same albeit with the addition of the reverb and master volume (which is really just a boost channel). I was fortunate enough to have a switch box made by the man that I bought it from that worked with the EQ, Reverb, and Master Volume. He said he tracked down the original schematic and crammed the footswitch into a 1590a enclosure with three switches that he velcroed to the back of the amp. Awesome.

I also have a 136 combo that I use at home which is freakin' awesome and sounds just like the 370, FWIW.

A 150b is the bass version of the 150. No reverb on the 150b so it wouldn't matter if the reverb is broken.
$99 is a good price but tt depends on what else is wrong with it.
