Hey Owl, thanks for the number! 
Ive been out of town for several weeks helping a family member and just got back in. Now if I can get the pics back up and running, got a friend coming over who is a little more technically oriented to help out, LOL.

Ummm.....me. I got the tolex and corners and what-not from another Acoustic enthusiast and just did it myself....man! She's a LOUD Mother!!!

Nice restore Buster! My 370 never fails to turn heads. I like to show people that the volume knob has been set on 3.5 all night. They just can't believe how loud the amp is!

Looks practically brand new.
Here's my 370. The previous owner didn't like the original knobs and converted the power plug to three prongs. Other than that it's stock. I hadn't played it for awhile until I got a new 2x15 and I forgot how loud it gets.

whats the main difference between the 360 and 370? Can i use my 360 head with other cabs? I've always thought they were made for each other, like popcorn and movies(sorry, pretty lame, but i drew a blank).

Trust me, I know! It's hard for someone who was not around in the "glory years" to fully appreciate just how incredibly LOUD these things actually get.......I LOVE mine!
OK...here's the difference:
The 360 is basically a preamp. It's mate - the 361 cab - contains the actual "amp" for the rig, so no, you couldn't use the 360 by itself without a power amp. That's why the actual "nomenclature" for the amp is 360/361.
The 370 is a fully contained unit - Pre and power. But it was also sold as the 370/371, but many choose the 2X15 version (the 301) cab...instead of the 1X18 configuration'

Yep..that's the last step for mine, as well....right now there are Fender knobs on mine until I can locate some OEM jobbers....great looking 370, though!!
Approaching off-topic to ask a stupid question about tolex - is it adhesive-backed or does one apply glue to it?
So not to be nitpicky, but the 370s were made from 1972 to 1977, making yours between 32 and 37 years old...still a classic, just not 43She's like 43 years old and SCREAMS!!!!!

Bottomend is right the model 301 is an unpowered 1x18 folded 'w-box' folded horn cabinet,same as the model 361pp cabinet and not a 2x15 cabinet. Acoustic Controls Corporation's 2x15 bass cabinets were the model 153,106,109,402,406 and the 215B and 215BD cabinets,(ACC made powered and non-powered version of these cabinets).
Recubed Buster Brown,The OEM knob for model the 270/370 are no longer being made,but Allied Electronics has a very close replacement for them. If you will look in Links section on the main page of the Link Removed wiki,
Look under Parts Manuals and Schematics, about mid way down you will find your Knobs from Allied Electronics for the 370/270. It looks like the only difference to me, is the Allied knob has a set screw, some of the Acoustic 270/370 knobs were push on type.

You get yours to 3.5? I normally don't get past 2 - and that is with the padded input! You guys must be insanely loud!
No - not adhesive backed....there are a couple of ways to apply it, either contact cement or staples or a combination of both...
With the 370, I used contact cement in order to maintain the "proper" restoration - by that I mean that the originals were contact cement only and, to be fair, the old tolex was a BEAR to remove, then a light sanding was necessary..

That's a very good point! Actually, I've had mine to 2.5 (or thereabouts) and it's so damn loud that it (literally) hurts my ears. However, I play a LOT of Deep Purple...so go figure!!
As you remember from a previous discussion, I don't know why, but amps today just don't seem to get THAT loud...and, mind you, I'm comparing the 370 to my SVT4Pro (that I have to turn to about 8-9 to get the same volume)....I have yet to figure that one out....
And, it's not just Acoustic. I DISTINCTLY remember the 80s, when I was an endorser for Traynor - back then their amps SCREAMED!!

In that particular band back in the 80's it was insanely loud! Now when I use it I'm on 2 - 2.5 and the guitarist say's it's a bit too loud! LOL!
