Sorry for posting this long winded post. Soooo, I was down in sc for 3 months and finally got back home about 2-3 weeks ago. I proceeded to invite some friends over to jam and my 360/361 was looking down on everyone else, as well as keeping up my entire block. Two or three days later went to practice some on it and all was well for about 5 min until the sound stopped. Upon further inspection, it seems the little light that is always on inside the cab is now off. The 360 preamp seems to be fine, but the cab is no longer giving out that beefy thump. So is life over as i know it? Should i just quit at life now?

In all seriousness, I really don't know what could be wrong with it. The only thing ive noticed was that pre-self destruction, when on, there was a light on within the cab, now there is no light on. What do you guys think it is? Cost to repair? Appreciate it guys.

Not to hyjack the thread from thejrace's question, but I just discovered that the B200/600H have a minimum output of 4ohms and are listed at 200/600 watts at 2ohms.
What's weird is that the 115 and 410 cabs they make are 8ohms and the 810 is 4ohms.
1st off; I run my B200H through a 200watt/4ohm cab, and it does sound like 200watts.
But, my question is this: why are the cabs 8&4ohms when the amps are 4&2?
And; if the amps are running at 4, are they only pushing half the respective total wattage?

Let me see if I can "sort of" answer your question in a roundabout manner....

I recently grabbed a 370. Took her over to my amp tech for a check up. I left the shop and the dude calls me, after about an hour...He says My God!! I haven't seen this sort of craftmanship in more years than I care to remember!

According to him, the amp is simplistic in it's design and the components were built to last (literally) a lifetime. According to him, there is no reason why this amp couldn't last 50 more years. I have played it at 12 shows and STILL, it sounds like a million bucks.

Now to your dilema...what I am trying to say is that it is (most likely) a small fix. These amps were built to last and the occasional hiccup shouldn't be construed as a reason to dump it...take it to a good tech and let him have a look at it.

The B200 and B200H should put out 200W @ 4 ohms. I believe that what you read in the manual is an uncorrected typo.

Now that being said, the reason the cabs are 8 ohm (115 and 410) and 4 ohm (810) is because they are designed to be used in tandem with these heads. Quite literally the 410 and 115 are designed to be used together (4 ohm in parallel) with the B200H. At 8 ohms, I believe the B200H puts out somewhere around 140W. Likewise the B600H will put out around 450W with a single 810 cab (4 ohms) but is designed to get maximum output with a pair of 810s (2 ohms in parallel).

The light is an overload device. Have a tech replace it and
check the power amp in the cab.

Hi Thor and thejrace

If the light on the back panel of the 361PP cabinet is out, the power amp in the cabinet is not on.I would 1st check to see if the fuse (5 amp slo-blo) is blown, on the back panel,next to the pilot light. If the fuse is ok, then you would need to have a tech have a look at the power amp, that is located in the bottom of the speaker cabinet. The model 361 bass amps are 40 years old, so I would recommend having the power cords on the head and cabinet replaced with new ones, they will start to come apart when they get old.I just replaced mine and had my tech go through my amp and give it a 'oil change', it was not giving me any problems,but it is running a lot quieter now and good for another 40 years of great service!! ( Hey, you got to change the oil in the 'car' sometimes,lol)

Yep don't you just hate typo's? The 200H is indeed accepts down to 4ohms for it's full 200 watts. 120-140 at 8ohms.
That's why I went with the 600H so that I am getting 275 watts in my 8 ohm 250w B115 cabinet. Using 2 of those gets me 475 w into a total of 500w rated between the 2 cabinets.
I'd have to use 4 of those or 2 4ohm cabs to get the full 600 watts. But really what's the point. I think 2 8 ohm cabs on the 600H is the ticket and 1 8ohm cab is sufficient in most instances. But yes the 200H goes down to 4 ohms and the 600H to 2ohms.

Thanks Cuz, gonna have a look at the fuse this weekend. Hopefully thats the only issue. Been looking to replace the power cord for a while now as well.

Hi guy's i use to have a 360 way back that i paid 600 for used, i used it for many year's with no problem's ,also a 370 with 301 bottom vega's in both a 140 head with 2 -15 bottom don't remember the # it had the round port's with the white coned eminence ,the best sounding rig hand's down was the 360 that i sold in the 80's for 700 buck's,i think i will try and make a mini 360 some day that would be very cool with the blue front a mini with a kick ass 10 or 12.

Doh, you are right! Check the fuse first. I keep forgetting that
the power amp is in the cab and of course that is fused.

Chances are though, if that is blown, there was probably a
reason why.

Less than one year ago I purchased the Acoustic B600H amp with the acoustic B410 cab and the B115 cab. I have to say I am unhappy. This rig isn't loud enough.

I play in a heavy doom band. I play with 2 guitarists which both use tube amps. I get that this acoustic is a solid state amp but I thought a 600 watt amp could keep up with them.

I'm wondering if someone is knowledgeable with these new Acoustic amps/cabs. What am I doing wrong? Wrong cab set up? Wrong brand of cab? Wrong by choosing Acoustic?

I love this particular amp. Love this sound but it's definitely not loud enough for my band.

Any hints or good suggestions? Help!
