The answer to a question nobody here asked.

Same with other tech. I just bought a new Samsung television for my elderly mom and I feel like they make them WORSE today - less user-friendly, they want you to ‘sign in’ to an account, overly complicated with ‘features’ no one asked for. The only thing that’s better & easier today is hooking them up. I’m returning it.

You buy a frigging tv and they want to know everything about you when it’s none of their business.
That is because of the software that the content vendors use, and not (directly) Samsung’s fault. The truth is, if you want to stream what they’re providing, you have to use their software, and sit through their advertisements.
