Here is a new head I recently aquired ...

1973 Marshall Super Bass 100

I'm not much on the old Marshall bass cabs though, so we are gonna build a one of a kind "retro" cab the size of a standard
4x12 half stack but loaded with some B&C drivers I had laying arond the warehouse ... it will have 12s and a 6.5 midrange,

photos as we get a little more into the project.

Did you make this? Looks cool & relatively simple in design.

Also, is that a Mark II or III?

Yes I made it. I do a little welding on occasion. That is one inch 16 gage square tubing welded solid, drilled/tapped,primed, and painted, I have made a few different types of racks through the years from Aluminum, Stailess Steel, Oak, Birch etc......

On the Boogie that is my trusty 1988 Mark III Blue Stripe Simul Class, GEQ, Rev, EV, Combo.

definitely follow marshall's lead and make that cab 4" deeper as they did with the JCM 800 Bass series cabs. I have 2 of 'em (2x15 & 2x10,1x15.) You won't be sorry.

Actually it will look very much like a vintage cab ...

Projected @ 29"x29"x14" atleast that is the external dimensions, (same as a 1960B) internally it's totally different than anything vintage. Using less (3) but more efficient drivers. It's already been tested in a somewhat more conventional looking cab and sounds great with the vintage Marshall head in a Noel Redding, Billy Cox kinda way. With a modern SS head it's rich and smooth.

Here is a thread to kinda show what I'm talking about ... cool VOX project.

wow, cool. That's way over my head.

I just traded a mid 70's marshall 4x12 (w/2 creambacks) for a 2x10 & 1x15 JCM 800 bass series cab.
I took the easy way out, as I was gonna put some EV12L's in the 4x12 and hope for the best.
The cab (and another JCM 800 bass series 2x15) goes into a JCM 800 bass series 100w MkII...or it will...tonight.

I look forward to hearing your results. ;)

Love a lo-budget hammer! I have a Squier Franken-sledge with an old re-wound (by Mr Fralin, legend says) Duncan p'up and Thomastick flats. One cheep clover-head tuner is mounted slightly off-square to the rest, don't care. Good bass for earning bread with.

Nice amp by the way.
