Hey! That's my bass! (The Musicman) Finish and all. Just thought I'd share. I'm on this thread looking at other peoples' rigs because I'm trying to replace my Hartke 15" combo that just isn't cuttin it.

Now that I read further, I see that we also have in common the Warwick Thumb NT (mine is fretless) AND the Novation K-Station!! My goal is to find an awsome and compact rig that will give me huge bottom from both the K-Station and the Musicman.

I didn't start out to collect. It just sort of got out of hand.
On the left is a 350H on 2 410he cabs. Next a 67 B-15nc (thats a B-15 with factory extention cab). Next a EARLY 1970 SVT and bottom. Lastly a 67 BT-15c . This has the light up electroluminensence control panel.
Not pictured is a 66 B-15 and a MarkBass Slim Head 450 with a 500 watt ported 15 bottom.

Had to dig pretty far back into the archives for these shots. I haven't lived on the avocado green carpet for over a year now.

I use this on loud gigs. I really need to get another Avatar Cab. The one shown is a 4ohm to make use of the ~500 watts on one channel of the poweramp. I want to get a second one in 4ohms and run it in stereo for close to 1000 watts total.

I also have a GK MB2-500 that I still need to get an RA on and send it in for an update. I use that with the same 410 neo for quieter gigs.

Smart looking rig, how did you find the Kustom head?

The head was actually a replacement... at first. The night of the VERY first show of the VERY first tour with that band had us waking up to find our van had been broken into. Along with merch money, car stereo, and a guitar 4x12 cab (i know, right?)... my Sunn Coliseum head was stolen.

So i booked it down to the local used place with the only stipulations being "Cheap and Loud". It came down to that Kustom or an Earth tube head. I didn't want to deal with tubes so i went for the Kustom...

...and it was the best descision ever! When cranked these old Kustoms have THEE sweetest grindy tone that actually negated the use of my (at the time) Russian Muff.

It's my favorite head. These days i don't play heavy crusty punk anymore, but i use this head in my garage indie-pop band and it's still as awesome as ever!! I even recently began effing around on guitar and the amp i bought... an early 70's Kustom combo amp!! In-SANE clean/reverb on it and just as good as some $1100 Fender combo (IMHO of course).

TL;DR: If yall ever see any of these old Kustoms, SNATCH IT UP!!! They're becoming 'hip' and starting to raise in price. I got mine for $150... but i regularly see them on CL/in used places for $300-$400.

PS: on said DIY punk tours, i've used the lovely tuck n' roll as a pillow on more than one occation! :D
