Mine is a dented, battered Yamaha RBX 250 in black (pics when I get back home tomorrow). It was my 17th birthday present from my parents back in the late 90s, so nostalgia plays a part, but it's light (and a dent magnet, so maybe basswood?) and really nails the P bass sound. My introduction to bass playing. Plus its monetary worth is almost nothing, so wouldn't be worth selling anyway

It's currently in need of some TLC, its action is a mile high and it's got a missing volume knob.

I also got a base for my 17th birthday. I recently gave it to my daughter. It’s a Rickenbacker Hamburg 2030. Also has a very P bass like tone. I played it exclusively for about 22 years. Got some nice 5 string basses and I’m on to the next chapter in my bass playing. My bass is probably a “95”

98 Stingray. That bass paid my rent and put food on table for nearly 5 years. I don't play it out these days, but I do record with it and play it at home. It's far from my number one, but if it came down to it, it would be my only.

I have four.

1974 Gibson L9-S Ripper I bought in ‘74 and use to this day. The first “real bass” I ever owned and still my main instrument.

And a:

Spector Euro ReBop 5-string
Epiphone El Capitan ABG

All three were gifts from my SO. I’d let go of the Ripper rather than part with any one of those three.
