THE BEST FUZZ PEDAL

I have a DOD Flashback Fuzz that is so powerful that I can get to a wood rasp sound like was used in the Marty Robbins recording of 'Don't Worry 'Bout Me'.

Here's a streaming playback of that bass sound but it doesn't come in until the first chorus:::

Somewhere out there in Etherland is another '2000 lb Bee' that is pretty much the same, as they used that to create the same sound when he played live. .

Another vote for the Sublime! Great versatile fuzz pedal! Only downside is that it is about the size of a men's size 12 shoe!

no response from op = trolling?

How is asking a legitimate question but not quickly responding to comments trolling? Not everyone is able to get on TB all the time. Sometimes I work 12 hour shifts and have no access to a computer, so if I post something it may be the next day or more before I can respond!

My smart*** response aside; I have to say that it's all subjective opinion. While there are some great suggestions,...there is no best fuzz pedal out there. I'd go so far as to say that even the most loathed fuzz pedal has a voice that will work for someone in some context.

Provided you have the right tools; like a solid amplifier and cab setup, and an EQ pedal,...or a boost,...or blend loop,...or a feedback loop,....or whatever,...AND you dedicate some time to experiment,...you can find that voice.

;)

There are too many... there is no best. For cheap I like those cute little orange guyatone ones, I like russian big muffs, Devi Ever BassFuzz/SMBL [if you can find one], Fuzz Hugger Arc Flash is pretty cool too, also if you can find one of those old Japanese Fuzz Wau's [under tons of names] those totally rule:bassist:

QUESTION about the FUZZ HUGGER ARC FLASH, how would you describe the tone on bass, comparable to (insert common fuzz), possible songs that sound like it?

Have not tried it yet and there is a seller locally offering his for about $100. I just want to have a general idea so I can decide if I will bother the seller and check it out. Thanks!

FWIW, and not that I've tried so many fuzz fx devices, but I like my Fender Blender a lot. You have to experiment a bit to get exactly the sound you're looking for, but IMO, it's worth it - AND you just might find something you like that you *weren't* looking for.....
