The best post-rock bass??

I was waiting for someone to mention Mogwai. They're the only band I really definitively thought of in the post-rock discussion. Thanks for providing a useful answer for the OP.

I don't know if he exclusively uses Travis Beans but he does play them as well. Also uses a Sabre from time to time

I read an interview with one of the guitarists (John I think) and when asked about Dom's gear on albums he said something like "probably just a Travis Bean through an Ampeg".

They have two touring Rigs and it's not simply doubled up stuff for him.
He has used all sorts of amps ( as this is just stage volume everything goes from a sansamp). There is a Travis Bean on both but fenders on one and the MM Sabre in the other.

Most if his tone specifically comes from his technique

Precisions are a safe bet but I see a lot of post rock guys using Gibsons too. Artists and Grabbers and stuff.

Brian Cook rocks Gibsons, dude from Mouth of the Architect uses a P last I saw...I've seen a few more but in my observation they're usually fat sounding passive basses.

My grandfather did make quite a lot of money selling gravel from a gravel pit he owned. Those were the days. It's all gone now. I wish I had some of that money, though, to buy a post-rock bass, whatever that is.

Going to clean this up when I have time, or do a do-over, but man, this isn't that hard guys. Just because you don't know anything about a genre doesn't mean you have to make fun of the OP's question this way. :scowl:
