I didn't say they are the only ones, but they do seem to be some the last of them. especially on such a high level of fame that still endures today.
Don't forget, Kiss had Rush support them on Rush's early tours. Watch the film " beyond the lighted stage" and you will see Geddy Lee praising Kiss about their hard work and determination and he also basically says, and I will paraphrase, no matter what people like the Kiss haters on this forum says, he does have respect for them as a band!
I own the film. Fantastic doc. And I know all about Rush and Kiss's stint together. I have to agree that they are the hardest working to entertain their fans. But that's just it. That's their thing, is ENTERTAINMENT. Of course Kiss is the best at that. I never said they weren't. And yes, Kiss is part of that dying breed of great bands who will one day have to pass the torch to dull, uncreative, screamy one-trick ponies like Nickleback who will not even have a lead singer that can hold a note because of vocal injury within the next 5 years. However, even Nickleback can put on a show with pyro, 10 foot high stages, and all that.
And just btw, I'm not a Kiss HATER. I don't think anyone here would object to hearing a little Detroit Rock City, would they? None of us could possibly HATE Kiss for anything but some personal grudge or whatever, which is very rare. Don't assume that we all hate Kiss just because we are not a big supporter of Gene Simmons and his corporate schemes and scams.
