I did notice on their site though under basses - pricing for the John myung is the same as a regular bongo. Went into the vault and the same bass was 1k more. Not sure if that’s an error but anyone looking to get one might want to check it out…
Maybe the deal with Myung is ending and they're getting rid of old stock or an updated model is coming? Only spitballing. I don't have any info.
I just picked up an NS CR6 fretless and I’m playing that a lot more than my Bongo recently
Bongo is getting an update !!! New models will have no paint finish on the necks and some cool new colors. Different frets as well. (8:50 minutes mark)
Maple fretboard too. Wow.
I like the green and maple. Would like it better as an HS, but very cool. Love my HS 4. Almost sold it because of some band tone concerns, but pushed through that and love everything about my HS bongo.
That's always how it goes. I got my Stealth HH 4 last year and as soon as new models are released, GAS. Maybe I'll get a 5 next year.
This will not be good for my wallet. When I saw the lime green stingray I had a weird feeling there would also be a lime green bongo. With the unpainted neck it will now be impossible for me to not buy it! Time to start selling some of my less used basses to fund this I guess.
If they make an HS, I'm all over it. I'm not as happy with the HH I currently have as I was with my old HS. This color and unpainted neck would be a good reason to make a change.
Interesting, the HS is the one Bongo configuration I never got along with. HH all the way for me but I also wouldn't turn down a single H version to return to the lineup.
I'm about to buy a purple pearloid pickguard from Pickguard Planet.
I deserve it. Haven't purchased so much as a bass string since November (cause I bought this in November and I'm brokeass broke!).
