I swapped a 60th anniversary Fender Jazz for this 4 string HH in Lava finish. I've also just done a deal on a Dargie Delight 6HH and organising the shipping to me here in Ireland. Great to see so many Bongo enthusiasts here - I used to work for BMW, so this is me combining some of my passions

I'm beginning to think whoever is managing this thread isn't paying attention to this anymore.
I got one for Christmas and am still loving it. I'll take a number. One of the best playing and sounding basses I've ever put my hands on.
Just added a GK MB800 to the rig. Sounds great with the Bongo.

It's a Fender Reverse Jaguar Bass, part of their Pawn Shop series in 2012-2013. MIM.
Reverse Jaguar Body and head, wired like a R handed bass. Double humbuckers which you don't usually see on Fenders too!

Bongo of the same color as mine. What can you say about tonal difference with your other MM?
The stingray 5 has definitely got more growl. Both have that great rosewood warmth.
I suppose the bongo just has a bit more mid and treble? Punchy and lays in the cut better than the stingray, which growls through very noticeably, I think.
The bongo is also sweeter on the upper end of the fretboard than the ray is.
Of course this being the Bongo you can dial in pretty much anything you want.
So, help out a fellow Sting Ray/Bongo owner here, please. What are your approximate settings to dial in the Bongo close to the Sting Ray with both p'ups, flat tone controls. Thanks.
Mmmm Bongo has been lent to a mate at the moment so can't verify buuuut...
I'd guess something like Bridge Pup 70-neck pup 30 blend, roll off the mids to 25 and the treble to 50? That's where I'd start, anyway.
