THE BONGO CLUB (Part 2, 3 and infinity)

I was actually going to list my DD2 Bongo in the For Sale section right after the first of the year. If you are interested, I can send you some pics, etc. The DD2 is amazing in both looks and sound. The way it changes color under the lights is way cool.

Thanks but I'm looking for a 6 string. Also you'll not want to send anything to Ukraine. It's going to do sovereign default in about....oh 6 days or so. We just hope to have heat come mid January. LOL

most popular build (IMO) HH - takes advantage of the 4-band pre the most.
rare, but some folks just love: HS
rarer still, more love for those few: H

Thank you very much for the response once again. I had a feeling that the HH is the most popular. The store is trying to sell me the HS since they got a whole bunch of them. Personally it's hard for me to imagine the bongo with just one H. It kinda seems like a Stingray....

I have a piezo on my DD2 Bongo and it is a great feature. Can give flats a bit more bite and adds a bit of an angry sound to rounds. Dialing in too much can make it sizzle.

I also have one installed on my fretless and it really shines in that application.
I just bought a bongo 4HH fretless yesterday-I wasn't planning in it; one of those serendipitous moments where I couldn't pass it up-it was a smoking deal. it arrives next week
I owned a 5HS bongo in the past and I know they are decent machines.
I figure as a fretless they probably sing pretty good too?
your thoughts?

Hi, I've just joined TalkBass for Bongo!
Once tested 5 strings at GC in 2011. At that time I was kind of okay with 4 strings, so I've played with 2 Fenders so far.
I am now thinking of playing 6 strings, and ordered a Bongo 6 right away without a doubt! Delayed delivery is quite bugging me... I might wait until June :(

Hi guys, I guess I have to tender my resignation or whatever because yesterday I sold my Bongo. It was for its own good, since I wasn't playing it or digging the tone as much as I used to. Sold it to a guy I used to back who loved the sound and always wanted me to play it. So my Bongo is now going to be his studio bass. I'm happy to have found a new, better home for it with a friend who really appreciates it and will use it a lot.

#164 was my number.

Beautiful! Looks like a gem for being eleven years old. I like the white pick guard. Shows off the single pu.

Thanks! I love it.

It is an 05 and is in almost immaculate condition. There were only 2 tiny dings in the headstock when I got it, and I've since contributed an extra headstock nick, and a tiny mark in the body (didn't reach the paint so it could probably be polished out).
