Here's a good looking Bongo 5 I saw on the MusicMan forum recently(For Sale section)- Cabernet Pearl finish (discontinued), full rosewood neck, pick guard delete.

What`s that colour? The preowner didn`t know. Is it "egyptian smoke"?
This Bongo was made 2003 and should be one of the first. It`s in fantastic condition. I got it from a collector who is now playing only 5-string basses and sold all 4-string.

Looking forward to getting my first Bongo tomorrow from the Fed Ex truck, a 2014 PDN Neptune Blue, with the Mahogany body and maple neck. I currently have Aguilar TH500 and a Bergantino CN 112. I am thinking about getting a GK MB500 because it seems like this bass will have some emphasis in the high mids, and the GK amps seem to excel at that, while the Aguilar is a more dark sounding amp. Thoughts?

Agree with all you say, but the TH is not too dark for me. It's all about the interaction between gain and master. Those PDNs are special, enjoy!

I snagged this off the classified here a few days ago, came in this afternoon. Thing sounds massive, I'm loving it so far. My other basses are all passive Fenders so this is quite the departure.

I don't think I've posted in here yet but I got a Bongo 6 string (2008 gold one) at the start of the year and it's so good the neck is the exact opposite to my old Warwick's which is perfect for my hands, it's crazy having a 6 string that feels better in my hands than my old 4 or 5 strings did. But the 4 band eq is something else that coupled with the two MM pickups gives me access to pretty much every bass tone possible (or at least in the ball park of it).

Love it, just need a fretless one now
