THE BONGO CLUB (Part 2, 3 and infinity)

I became a Bongo owner, and an EBMM owner for the first time in August of 2020. A month later they came out with that stunning sunburst mahogany BFR Bongo, so I got one.

All the cool colors of yesteryears - really liked the fire mist era and the Dargie green but last years colors really didn’t do it for me (except stealth black).

this color though wow - I hope it looks as good in person as it does in photos!

i betcha it will. It is a very tempting bass. Congrats. I did also lust for the Dargie but I only need 1 bongo six

Hey guys what is the lightest weight Bongo you've seen? I've had two and would like to have another one back in the guitarsenal. Sadly I need to something light due to back and neck issues. I've been able to score a 7lb Ray and would love a light Bongo if they exist.

Get the right strap and the weight won't bother you. I shattered my spine awhile back and gig regularly with my bongo 6 as well as a a Warwick.

Gruv gear makes a dual strap. I have a few of them. It help equalize and distributes the weight evenly between both shoulders. It was a game changer for me.

Hi guys, I have a question on the technical side: bought a Bongo HS recently.
Seems like the pan poti was replaced, the poti does not have the middle positioning and the knob is also lower.
Anyone here has replaced a poti? Or should I check on the EBMM forum? Need to know:
1) Which balance poti to buy?
2) How do I get the board with the electronics out of the compartment? Any video/instructions? I know the potis are soldered to the board.

I would contact Ernie ball on this one. They could give you the exact spec, sell you the replacement part or do it for you depending on their policies and your budget

Contact their customer support. I had to replace my volume porti. They will send you exactly what you need. If you plan on doing the repair yourself. You will need a soldering pump. To suck away the old solder. I believe they all have 3 points to secure. Not a super easy job but with two people it can be done. You don't need to take the whole board out just enough to loosen to gain access. And make sure you protect the other leads near the area you are working on. It's kinda tight.

Are you sure the potis is broken. In your pic it almost seems it just has the wrong knob? I too have the HS. I would buy the stacked knob first. That might be your issue.

The balance / panning poti is not broken; it works but has no centerposition. I took off the balance knob because it was not turning well - the poti axis is split; the other axis are solid.
