THE BONGO CLUB (Part 2, 3 and infinity)

The Bongo body is a fairly small footprint so scaling that down doesn't make sense to me at all. It's also very well contoured and comfortable as is. The headstock is well designed and fairly compact compared to say, Fender so I don't see room to scale it down either. Sounds like kind of nitpicking to me. Shorter scale...ok maybe would be interesting for those that like it. I don't see EBMM doing that any time soon though.

I assume the “point” of the bongo is to be a modern cutting hifi instrument. I actually assumed they were 35” scale to begin with.

I will say my 6 string is pretty damn cumbersome. I don’t think is small or compact by any means. Is sounds great and plays great though.

Ok, I was speaking of the 4 which I own. I've never played a Bongo 6 so fair point. Funny, I don't see it as a hi-fi bass compared to a lot of actives. More of a beast...lol
Right. I think it is though. The pre amp and humbuckers are deadly. Maybe hifi is the wrong term but modern is definitely applicable.
Lol. The body of a six is literally the size of a toilet seat!! Hahah. And the head stock is a massive pointed spear. It is a beast of a bass

a Gibson SG bass / EB / LP is the size of a guitar. Fender scales up the bass bodies for the sale of balance but imo it’s uncomfortable.

Witty comparison, right? Yeah, not so much.

Might want to check out the Bongo Addendum to the Bass Forum Rules:

the bongo addendum this goes for posts too. if you wanna compare a bass to a commode, that bass better have a handle or else you better own one.

Gorgeous bass - just selling a bit too high for me since I already have a harvest orange ordered. Yours is a beaut though!
Yeah. I’m not “liquidating”. For a mint condition bass that’s extremely rare, I don’t see any reason to lose money on it. There is very few bongos I visually prefer more. That Harvest orange is too 5 for sure!
