An early '70s Polytone 101 combo

Along with an '88 GK200MB

Very different amps, each with a charm of its own...I can't really say that I prefer one over the other.

I've been playing a 70's Acoustic reflex with a JBL, fits in the backseat of a chevy. It' sounds way better than I remember. It reminds me of the good ol days.

It's combo-related, yet not a combo:

Bought a 3 foot Neutrik NL4 to Neutrik NL4 from Rattlesnake Cable Company for the PJB BG-400 and C4 extension cab during their 25 percent off Black Friday sale. It is a semi-impulse buy. Been looking at, and wondering about, Rattlesnake cables for a good while. At the discount, it rings in close enough to the Pig Hog speaker cables I use with the Elf to make me pull the lever.

It's installed, and works as well as the cable of unknown origin it replaces.

Combo-adjacent is welcome here.

Thanks kindly, Fearless Leader. I usually add a little chorus because I like that kinda slick sound, but it was a marriage of two components who have been searching for each other for a while now. The irony is that the Markbass combo sounds way more like a Rumbler (less scoopy midrange to these ears though) than say my Rocket Bass combo. They even mimic some of the control features of the Rumbles, so yet another brand who knew to go after for customer share.

I'm going to have a few songs coming up this month on our YT channel that feature the Markbass/Hofner duo. Check it out if ya find yourself with a spare minute or two. Thanks again for listening!

Hi all, please may I seek help with my TV 10 tweed combo? I lost volume and sent it to the UK service centre who tell me that the PSU has packed up. It can’t be replaced and the amp is scrap now that it’s 13 years old. I’m broken hearted as it’s a fantastic sounding combo; I’ve taken care of it and on the outside it’s immaculate. What can I do to save this super cool amp? Thanks!

Is that the Blackstar? I can't find anything useful (block diagram, schematic) online. You can try taking it to an independent tech or shop that works on tube amps. A tube amp at that price point may or may not be salvageable at a reasonable price. Sorry the mfr won't repair it.
If you post the general area you live in, someone may be able to receommend a place to take it.

No sorry; maybe wrong thread I don’t know. I mean my Fender Bassman TV 10 combo from 2011. Fender tell me it’s scrap. Wondering if anyone can help? The PSU is no longer available and as it’s on the IC anyway, any other off the shelf PSU wouldn’t fit.

It may be possible to repair that amp, but the problem would be getting it to someone who:

1) will work on it, and
2) paying for shipping both ways, plus the repair.

at ~40 lb and not-small size, shipping alone may cost a couple hundred bucks/pounds. That puts you well on your way to buying a similar, replacement combo amp, before including the repair cost. At least, that would be the case here in the US.

Your call, but I'd probably give up and get something else, perhaps used.

Maybe you could buy a low-watts amp head, & use the Bassman TV's speaker portion as a cab, once disconnected from the original (non-working) amp head.

I might do that with my old SWR Workingman 15, depending on the repair estimate (which is still pending at this time).

The Bassman TV series were produced from 2009 to 2012, so that's recent enough that there could others around, used, or held for parts. A competent tech could repair it if they could find the part(s). Ask in the TalkBass Fender Bassman TV Series group if anyone there knows of a good tech/shop in your area.
