Actually, that's the world standard for representing date and time - ISO 8601.

Now that you say that, it makes sense. I hadn't thought about it but the change on the date format came along about the same time as the company was going to ISO certification. We do business all over the world so makes sense that they would do that. The dates / approvals on our drawings get pulled in automatically so it's all pretty transparent to me.

I try to spell out dates for that reason. July 1, 2018. I may be confused but not about that.

That's nuts. Two hours ago I'd have put up my SX P/J bass (not that crazy about it anyway) that Dave, my son's bass had lights at the bottom, and he had a switch to turn them on and off. The reason I remember it was a Bassman was the disc-shaped emblem on the front of the amp. Check out GP's picture again of his small combo. It's at the bottom right corner, and says Bassman in script, right GonePlaid? I'll have to ask him if he remembers, but maybe it didn't have lights after all. Is this a sign of old age or what?

Nope, you confused the amp with the police car that arrived to enforce the sound curfew.

Well, I dunno about boring. The Miami Beach gig was Summer of '80 to Spring of '82. The gig before that was 6 nights a week, March of '75 to July of '80. You could actually make a living as a musician-w/o being a "Star"-back then. Now the band I'm in averages 1 gig/week for less $ than I made 40 years ago.Plus, Summer in South FL is the off-season. My next gig is 7/6(or 6/7 for Giffro-LOL). Next after that is July 20, then ??

Observing the music scene as I'm sure we all have over the years, it's incredible how much it has changed since 80s. I liked the way you said that even normal people could earn a living playing locally, though I know the term "locally" holds as different meanings (S Fla vs. Podunk, IA). No, I'm sure life was far from boring back when your day revolved around playing the music you liked or tolerated each night!

Amazing though isnt it GP. Its about the same here in Oz, where I made more money back in the 70's 80's and 90's than what I do now for a 4 or 5 hour gig. Its a crazy business lol

I think it's age discrimination. In my case, I don't get paid at all unless I pay myself....

We have kept working, even in our "off" season because we can start the night out w/ "dinner" music-Bossa novas, standards, etc. and end the night w/ classic rock(whatever THAT is)or country. Our normal(?)last tune is "We Gotta Get Outta This Place"-and then we do!

A lot can be said for the those days before computers and cell phones. TV was great but, to socialize and have better entertainment, you had to get off your butt and go where people gathered. Live bands drew well until venue owners realized they could hire a DJ for less and have their own "sock hops". Unfortunately, the audience didn't seem to care that much!

Now, back to more important things like, why Giffro keeps challenging us with up-side-down and backward things like spelling, driving on the wrong side of the road, not knowing the correct time of day and messing with dates! What's next...will he invent a keyboard with an Aussie accent? .

Really clean setup, JJ. Having that studio amp takes out pedals, cables, and clutter. I'm assuming that's a good projection point in the church for the amp to offer a little more bass too. Smart.

This little combo gets pulled in some interesting directions as you can see from this get up. I’ve played a wine bar with this tiny amp.
It has a great little voice.
