Hey Recon. Are we talking double bass-sized large stringed instrument? What are you using to run the bass through? I'll take partial credit for the non-musical direction tonight. Mondays are always a tough day and I think our brethren wanted a break from pandemics, rioting, bad pizza, etc. Let us know what you were up to.

I have seen someone run over the top of corn starch that someone else sank into at standstill.

Seeped past the wrap and into the amp chassis. At one point after realizing it was a lost cause, we pulled the wrap off and let the liquid mess fill up the speaker. Yeah, it was shot.
I forgot to mention my class was visiting a first grade class so I’m they could witness the magic. Must admit, they had fun!
The Fearless Leader spares no efforts, no costs to get new Combo Recruits?

No, just my full scale Yamaha 5er Played through my Peavey 110max combo.

Hartke HD508 Bass Combo Amplifier (500 Watts, 4x8")
I've read reviews and watched videos about it. I'm wondering how it handles the low B and are the highs clear and crisp. I play 6 string Peavey Cirrus basses. Will be used as a practice amp and in small venues. Thanks for any help!

I know this is the combo club but I felt the exact way about my Acoustic B8, just really poor articulation. You at least found a good use for it.
I'm posting this experiment-gone-wrong only to update our new members to what probably seems like an inside joke. ... ...

How much of a hassle was it, taking off the fake horseshoe magnet? Were you lucky enough to have a model with the fake bit screwed to the top of the mount?
I think this is the second request for personal information about that new critter. Last time I saw a post about it, none of our tribe has yet taken the plunge and brought one home. I'm interested, but not enough to purchase.

I think this a repeat request for any info on the Hartke. I’d love to hear what this interesting combo sounds like too. 500 watts and like 47 lbs, if I recall correctly. Anyone here give it a spin? There’s 500 Schmackeroons in it for ya if you have!
Lol! But I felt so bad about it, WBB. On the other hand, for the price it is cheaply built with low cost materials, etc. I don’t know if it was here or not, but someone reviewed one of their combos after tearing it apart and shocked at how flimsy it was inside, particularly the materials used. I guess that’s the “You get what you pay for” philosophy at a glance.
Then again, can my $99 Ampeg BB-108 v2 be any better built and, it’s tonality is inspiring, at least to me, even before the speaker swap.
I dunno, a very good friend and club member suggested I take a look at a B15 plugin for my DAW and if I decide to, I may scrap my new combo acquisition and possibly improve my recordings. Decisions decisions.
I knew I should’ve read the fine print when I agreed to the Wiki page! That was s fun trip down memory lane, ‘Dog. It’s like every posted picture of a combo we’ve ever had. And I have way tooo many representations there myself. Some I’d even forgotten about. Keep up the great work. Now I know I need to add another to your portfolio!

Been contacting brick & mortar stores in the St. Louis, Illinois and Indianapolis, Indiana areas (I'm right in the middle of the two), to see if anyone actually had a HD508 on the floor.
Was promised I'd get a text if/when one came in.
The fact that it is so objectively poor is the most damning thing. If you don't like the tone of an amp that's one thing, but when it's just not well designed or built, well that's another.
Acoustic combos really aren't much less expensive than similar Fender or Ampeg combos which both seem to be much better, generally. I don't miss my Acoustic B8 and the fact that I was able to get $50 for it when I bought my Ampeg BA115 was like found money.
