I wonder how often he moves that [stuff].Ah, don't be so hard on Mad Anthony. With a guitar player like Eddie, Mike was playing what suited the songs best. I'd say he's very solidly mediocre, but that's a different thread.

FL, if you're going to get a RB-115 combo, I suggest you also upgrade your Rumble 100 to the 115 Rumble 200 so you can compare the original and the new clone. That would be a review to make Combo Club history!

red, you need a 112 Rumble 100 to compare to the RB-112. Perhaps you could get a deal from Fearless Leader! Then, you could join FL with another history making Combo Club review!

The Combo 200 with a 1-15 Extension Cab is everything I remember from my Dynaco amp and a 2-15" D140 F Cab from way back then.
I am awaiting a neutral comparison between the RB-115 combo and a Rumble Combo 200.

Ooh, I love the Clone Wars! The thought of dual 15s again is intriguing. I need it like the proverbial hole in the head, but that could be said about a lot of things.
Maybe after C-19 is officially over with, we’ll need to put on a CC Amp Fest where all members are invited to bring an amp or five to a preselected destination (GP’s garage) and we set them up and try each out. I’ll being cookies, SR, you can bring crab or lobster. That’d be fun!

Next thing you’re gonna dropkick Cliff Williams of AC/DC and say his stuff was mundane and unimaginative...which might be if it didn’t fit their music so well. Ya play to the song, people. Not everything needs Geddy Lee or John Entwhistle-style playing ya know!

Yeah, b, I kinda agree with ya. In the old days (two years ago), if we were to get together and jam, I always hauled the 100 because it was so easy to take. Good point. The Vox combo, less likely to make the journey because I’d need more bass, but at nine lbs it’d be a breeze to carry.
Great points made by SR. A runoff would be exciting, wouldn’t it? I’d most likely enjoy all of them too. That’s my problem!
^^^Agreed, @SoulReflection !! I’m not too sure anyone happy with a Rumble wouldn’t be happy with the Rocket.
Since I like my Rumble 40, and it fills a niche for me (small open mics, practice, etc) I decided to go Ampeg for my 15” for my block party, community BBQ, occasional bigger gig combo. I am looking forward to the comparison, albeit two different wattage/speaker configurations.
I figure the Legacy amp DNA with SGT (Ampeg) and the Rumble EQ with voicing buttons/overdrive can be compared using headphones. That should level the field nicely for each to reveal character differences...I think
You’re gonna get the best of both worlds, tele. Can’t wait to read your thoughts on the RB. I have a hunch it’s gonna be a winner, if only because the SGT is gonna sound way better than the Scrambler.
So if FL ends up parting with his Double Four, you'll be in good shape!
That’s gonna be a hard one part with because it’s by far my cleanest, most accurate combo, and I think every scientist/bass player needs to have at least one reference amp to compare to with everything else. Plus, I like red!

Take the bass line to the Four Tops' "I Can't Help Myself(Sugarpie Honeybunch)". That's an interesting bass part. And again, I'm not saying I'm right*, but I am saying how it hits me.

ZZ Top is in my top 5 for favorite bands, so I like Dusty's playing and singing. Michael Anthony seems like a great guy (he now plays with Sammy Hagar after d@uchebag Eddie kicked him out of VH so Eddie's son, Wolfie, can play bass
). With Eddie overplaying on every song, MA was needed to keep some stability in the songs, but I still would not consider him a great bassist, IMHO.FWIW, I am a fan of Sammy Hagar and is/was not a fan of Eddie Van Halen....

Michael Anthony is one of my favorites for sure. If technical skills and interesting lines is what does it for you then give Fair Warning a listen.
