The Combo Club

Here is the model I have. Regards, Keith

Wait a sec, you're Morten, TC's bass dept boss? That's who's on the video. If so, thanks for signing up with us, we're honored! If not, a pic of you and/or your actual amp and we'll be just as honored. Sorry for being a stickler, keith, but our governing body makes me do this stuff. They're tyrants! :(

You asked for it.... I often play this combo at blow up level and it never hiccup'd until I was rolling it too roughly across cobblestones and dis-lodged the speaker connection clip on the circuit board. So I soldered the speaker wires directly to the circuit board. The other unit is a spare. I blacked out the TC logo's because it's distracting.

keith, you are officially member #253...congratulations! This is a bass player, folks. Asking for evidence? 1) he plays at a level where small nations must notify their citizens of tsunami warnings; 2) tosses his gear around like it doesn't matter (okay, I used a little creative license); 3) does soldering work when today's amps are so sensitive you have to ask them for permission to pull the amp out; 4) blacks out stuff because HE CAN; 5) he wants to join the Combo Club. If that's not a bass player, then find me a better example!

Wear your number in your sig with pride, keith, and don't be a stranger. Thanks again for your interest!

Thanks, Bro. I'm 2 years shy of 50 years playing bass for profit and fun. I started playing clubs when I was 13 back in Texas. I've been playing for a living in LA since 1979. The TC combo is one of the better ones for doing split duty with upright and electric. People like the tone, and playing a smaller rig allows me to turn it up and get it talking. I don't like high powered amps that are mostly idling. I use larger rigs when I need to, but this TC handles most things and sends a good signal to the house mixer. Take care.

Our last post was over 14 hours ago...sheesh, who killed this thread? I know, you guys are prepping for a wild weekend of bass playing, whether it's gigging or woodshedding in the family room. I've been working on a bluegrass song all afternoon, yes SR, it's true, and am still working on it. Taking a break now because all I hear is the low G running through my head. Fun tune though.

We're around 33 posts to go before hitting the magical 900 number. So how about those reading this tell members and lurkers alike what your musical plans are this weekend. Me? Continue with this particular song and get a decent recording out of it and go back to a James Taylor song I was messing with earlier in the summer. that's it.

Oh, and begin planning our super-mega celebration when we as a group finally hit the 1,000th post. Any ideas out there? Let us know. My big announcement is when that time comes I recommend we hold an election to nominate and elect a new FL. I'd like to get us to that thousand-post milestone, but am ready to turn over the reins to someone else who actively participates and would like to see the CC continue on. Think about it and let us know if you'd like to be the next Grand Pooba. :hyper:

I'll go first. There is a pawn shop up the road that has a Warwick Corvette Bubinga for sale. It has been there for months and the action is insanely high. Looking down the neck it has a banana shape. I. Want. It. Going back and try again to talk him into either let me adjust the truss rod and see if it recovers, or somehow get it to a shop and have it done.

Oh, and you are the FL for life. Get used to it.

Well, what can I say (don't ask);)?

Bluegrass is better than the other grass...

I plan to woodshed in the doghouse this weekend. I have found the doghouse to be a very comfortable place (not by choice):help:.

A new FL? How could that be? We are so used to the existing one, who could possibly be a more Grand Pooper?

Happy weekend everyone...:laugh::laugh::laugh:!

Sweet! Get that jewel fixed! Hummm. I should hit up a pawn shop.

The Combo Club. I guess I should join. I's got several combos as one can see.

LJB, I can’t believe I haven’t been hounding you to do so! Please post a pic and that’ll put us one step closer to 300 members (another goal of mine). It’ll also hand you immortality as you’ll always be known and loved by that number.

Also keep in mind that I will look stunning, but confused, playing on stage. I wonder how my tone will be? Might be worth it...

When I joined a band in 1999, 1st time in decades, right after my last divorce, I only had my Ovation Acoustic bass. So I played it out for about a month then got me another electric. I got all kinds of looks lololol. But I liked it. Sounded good to me. Yes, I was Something Strange.

Well, if you’re headed to the d’house, bring your bass and write that symphony you’ve always talked about. And after washing her car???

You’re also used to the same underwear brand, orange juice, and smell of clean laundry, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.

I have three members’ names in a sealed jar and if any one of them offers I’m gonna swing my support to them. If they all three get nominated I will live in peace for eternity.

What? I never said that...I'm fine with my existing underwear, orange juice and laundry detergent! I'm going to suggest you stick with your bluegrass and ditch the other stuff...he said respectfully...!
