The Combo Club

Nope. That’s what I was looking for when I took off the underneath cover. They were both fine. My guess is the two output caps were bad to begin with or deteriorated over time. I bought it as a blem, if you remember, but it was supposedly because of a slight scratch on the faceplate. Maybe there was more to it than that. I’ll keep ya posted.

Suspecting it's easier (and cheaper) to fill that hole in the armory with an RB-115 combo than an Orange Terror and random 15. Maybe if I want some Orange-ness in my signal chain, I buy a Joyo Orange Juice

Received my rat fur 115 cab from GC in Saginaw,MI this past Tuesday. Well packaged with enough bubble wrap,to fill front seat in my Jeep! Might just deal with the rat fur, after picking at it for awhile getting the fringes off. Not a perfect match, but can deal with that. Difficult to match cabs unless you are there in person. Sounds great just have to be aware of the volume in the Church! Some of the older ones, might get a little nervous seeing those two 15" stacked?LOL Also has two plug ins on back,of cabinet one without horn and one with horn?

Seeing a 15 inch combo stacked on a 15 makes me :hyper:

Here is picture of it sitting in between drums, and steel guitar. We still have a live band at the Church I attend. Baby grand piano, couple acoustic flat tops,fiddle/violin. View attachment 4404604

Enjoy the tone but make sure your band mates are all caught up with their health premiums because there Gould be some serious disemboweling ahead!

Really, no one has been on since me from Monday night? wow, what's coming to our combo bass world? My gear said it misses me. I feel the same way. I had fun playing over the weekend but these weeknights are killing me. I just finished correcting three classes' science tests and am too pooped to play. Oh well, I'm done whining.

Orange update for those interested: Kaelin, my Orange rep outta Georgis, I believe, says if I can't drive my amp to one of their service centers in IA (literally, two of the three establishments are working from their home), then I'll be sending it to them. Okay, fine, but then she dropped the news that I'm exactly five months over my warranty period. Really? Now I know what it feels like when GP plays a gig that entertains five people...ouch!

I'm not taking the blame for this problem because I refuse to believe an owner who plays said amp occasionally for less than two years would blow a cap on his own. I'm hoping once they get in there and see what happened they'll at least offer me a deal of some sort. If not, I still have to get it fixed and maybe it'll be perfect after that. It's not gonna change the lousy taste in my mouth though. It's like getting a rancid-tasting orange when you were expecting a sweet one!

Enough of that. Everyone have a good rest of the week. This is our HS's Homecoming Week and so every day has been a dress-up theme. Today was Wacky Wednesday so I went dressed as Doc Intrepid with a violin bass over my shoulder and towing an amp rig consisting of 269 different combos, heads, and cabs held together with strips of Canadian Bacon. It was quite the look and drew rave reviews amongst the Pre-Kindergarten set, who are seriously tough to please.

Oops! I posted in Rumble Club 'cos it directly concerned Rumblers more than Comboists, but Tuesday night was rehearsal night for the community concert band.(2weeks ago was our first concert since early 2020) I used the R40 and the Ibanez AGB200-plenty for the ~35 piece band.

The dinner music/jazz/rock band has a VFW gig this Saturday night(9/18)and also 10/02. R100/EB-0 for that gig. The 40 would prolly cut it but it'd be pushing it more than I like to. B4 you ask, the TBird is fine. Space is tight at the VFW-I'd be hitting the Bird's hs against a wall. Nope.

It would have been more authentic with duct tape, but I'm not offended ...

Sorry you're not having fun with the Orange amp. Buy a couple of Vox amps and I send you the diagram to connect them.

Good-looking pair to play music with, GP. I think you’ll be just fine. :hyper:

I knew I could kid with you! You’re still doing stuff that makes me scratch my head, but obviously you like your sound and that’s all that matters.

The Orange? Instead of buying a Vox, I’ll be buying a box soon to ship it off!

Gigs where a 100 watt combo does the job sound pretty sweet to me.
