I am starting to believe that my Brawley Artemis bass was probably made by Cort.:hyper:

I definitely want active/passive switching. I think I'll do it tonight.

Alot of people refer to the switch on the A4 as active passive, but it's not. It just defeats the EQ. You're still running through the pre amp, just that the EQ knobs have no effect.

The funny thing is I've read some reviews that say "the great thing about it that it sounds the same in "passive" mode as in active mode with the EQ set flat"

No kidding! LOL That's because it's still in active mode, but has the EQ set flat.

I want true passive, which I will play most of the time, but with the ability to switch to active if I need to give particular frequencies a boost.

Of course, I'm not commenting on what your c4z has...I've never played that bass.

Just that contrary to many people's belief, the switch on the A4 is not active/passive, but simply EQ on/off.

For any users that are skeptical, try playing your A4 with no battery in it with the switch set to off. It won't work ;). In a true passive configuration of course the bass will work without a battery.

:)

I have an A4,too.Would you please tell me how to replace EQ on/off by active/passive.thx!:help:

I have just bought a GB75. Here you can download the audio files:

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=de061c0d22f8390fd2db6fb9a8902bda

2 audio files, with bass set active and passive. I changed the controls many times to show better the tonal possibilities.

It was recorded with my Zoom B2.1u plugged to my notebook via USB. No effect or equalization was added.

Hope it helps to know better the Cort Gb75.

Hi fellow Cort fans

I fell over this beauty about 2 months ago, and I just had to buy it ;)
I've modded it with a couple of Tesla Corona-B1 pickups, didn't like the feeling of the MightyMite pickups, and now it's a really wonderful bass.

I just had one of those "Oh my god!" moments. I was looking for a bass for my 13 year old son who wants to graduate from a short scale. His guitar teacher brought one of these over to my house. 3 months old, not a mark. The owner bought it, but didn't like it, so has "upgraded" to an Indonesian Ibanez 5er.

He wanted just less than a third of the retail price, so I snapped her up. Beautiful neck, and quite strong sounding pickups/pre-amp. Seems like a great all-rounder to me, with a very warm and flexible tone.

Sadly, it's just not RAWK enough for a 13 year old (unless you painted skulls or flames on it I guess), so it has slid into Dad's rack:hyper:. Makes a good stable mate for my 80's RB850DW which has been my main instrument (amongst many) for the last 20 years.
