The Cracker barrel restaurant chain

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] mAN i WAANA TRY THEM burgers, and the chicken fried steak is good.I also wanna try the fish fry nad the turkey looks pretty good. I really wanna try grandpas brekfast. I still prefer IHOP though.

I LOVE that place.. There is one about 3 miles from my apartment..

I loved their pecan pancakes. But, for dinner its usually either roast beef or chicken fried chicken, hash brown casserole, turnip greens, and sweet tea with lemon..

I used to go there, but havent been back in quite some time for a few reasons.

1) It smells of old people.
2) Magnet for bubbas.
3) Oh yea, how could I forget. At our local branch, one of the more prominent waiters was caught sodomozing little boys in the bathroom.

To me, the best part of cracker barrel is the fireplace.

I used to go nuts for the "Pitch Potatoes". They were like a baked tater, but instead of baking them in an oven, they'd drown them in boiling pine pitch. They had a big ol' warning on them in the menu, it said "WARNING! Do NOT eat the skin! Not good for you, may cause gastric distress, etc." So what does a some Bubba do? He eats the whole dang thing, skin and all, and gets sick. Real sick. So bad he has to go to the hospital. When he gets out, he goes back to the "Barrel" and orders the same thing. Eats it all, has to go back into the hospital AGAIN, then sues them. :rollno: Well, DUH, ya cretin, they TELL YOU NOT TO EAT THE DURN SKINS! Lurn ta reed!

He won his suit, and became a multi-thousandaire over it. CB then had to remove the Pitch Potatoes from the menu, and it's never been the same for me, so I don't go there anymore.

Grandpa’s Country Fried Breakfast®

Two Eggs cooked to order with Grits, Sawmill Gravy, Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits, real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n’ Apple Butter (on request) we could find.
~plus~
Fried Apples or Hashbrown Casserole (I prefer the apples)
~and~
Chicken Fried Chicken or Country Fried Steak (either one)

Good stuff. Definitely one of the best chain restaurants (for breakfast) out there.

+ 10 billion :D

We only go there for breakfast, may be 2 or 3 times a year since the closest one is almost an hour away. But I do love Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast :hyper: The only problem with going there is that my wife always ends up shopping at the gift store, buying useless cr*p that we don't need ....

I love Cracker Barrel. I'm sad they closed the ones by my house, but there's one by my BF's house.

I love getting chicken and dumplings. And also grits :)

I haven't had any trouble with discrimination there, I'm not white and neither is my BF. We always get served and seated promptly. But maybe there is different discrimination between Caucasians and Blacks* than there is between Caucasians and Asians and Caucasians and Latinos.

*My friend who is Haitian said she does not like the term "African-American" because she is not from Africa.

+698 :hyper:

When my last band was in SLC for a few shows, we have breakfast at Cracker Barrel ever day, even though it was 60 miles from where we were staying.
