For Black P Bass/Rosewood fretboard I love Vintage pearl - a nice mix of classic tort pattern /white-black contrast/vintage-retro vibe.

How about this one? Came on an Affinity, I thought it was metallic, but it's just the stock white plastioc guard sprayed with silver metallic and reddish paint. Kinda punk looking IMO. It now sits on my shelf, and a gold guard is on there.

Never could stand a plain white guard and i dislike all pearls , just seems cheap to me for some reason.

Tort i have always been on the fence about,I love black guards BWB is my favorite P bass guard, it works on almost anything. I also really like mint which is weird because its not that much different then white.


BWB or mint :D
 
With maple, I have always though that the BWB guard looks very classy. It's like your bass is wearing a tuxedo.
