Now (I'll duck first) but what's all the love for tort guards out there? I've just taken one of my new Jazz: personally I hate tort guards! They look rather too gaudy and a bit like a slab of bolognese sauce to me, but each to their own I suppose. Happy to be in the minority on that one but for me it's definitely a case of the the emperor having not clothes!

I'm right there with you. I will never put a tort pickguard on my bass. I'm all about the white whether you have rosewood or maple.
Black on black is too much black, why even bother having a pickguard? (aside from the obvious, holding the electronics, protecting the bass, blah blah blah :P)
