OK, let me be the guy that points out that there is a big difference between
designing for a big venue, fixed system and finding something that you can set up
in your local dive with ease.
For me, playing local bars or private partys, The PA is for vocals only.
My solution is a fEARful.
I want to hear what I am doing, no matter where I am on stage.
I want the audiance to hear, even if they are in the back corner of a sleazy dive.
I really want my band mates to hear me.
Maybe not perfect, but about as good as you can get in a small, portable package.
It works for me.

I think everyone here is aware of that, but I for one am interested in learning about the "pro sound" examples as we can apply this same stuff to our bass rigs. Best rig that's practical I suppose is the goal.
