The dreaded rig question ...

Either head your looking at is a good value if you get one and get bored of the tone just add a sans amp or similar device

One thing I would think about if I were you though is cab choice. Although a 210 is smaller and lighter in the end for me it was actually harder to move. If you have a 410 with casters on it you can set your amp on top of it and roll it. But with a 210 you end up deadlifting both the cab and the head/rack the entire time. IMO if your happy deadlifting a 210 and a head then wieght shouldn't be much of an issue in what cab you want to begin with.

Good point, which makes the Yorkie attractive--the general consensus is that it takes effects very well. I really did dig the GK, though. And 300 vs. 400 watts doesn't seem like much of a difference, espcially since those 300 watts are GK watts ...

I guess it all depends--212s or a pair of 15s in Neo format shouldn't have to be deadlifted, just lifted. Whether or not it fits in my car is the key. That 410GLX didn't look too promising in that regard. I have a feeling that old Ampeg 215 won't, either. :crying:

When I can afford a new car I'll be getting a wagon that can fit a massive 215. But until then ...

So it's settled: found a 700RB-II and an Ampeg SVT-15en at GC. $509 out the door. Light enough for my back, loud enough for medium gigs, cheap enough to expand with another 15 if I need the horsepower.

Of course, they're both on police hold till July 5.
