SMASH said:Roger, can you give some background to how this amp came to be - how it came to reflect what you wanted to hear? The bio on your site doesn't mention if you play bass - so how does the r&d process go on something like this, or even the development of your other products, if you don't mind saying?
Thanks.
I agree.SMASH said:I've been looking around and it seems to me that the price isn't outrageous for this amp. Sure, there's arguably a cachet factor in the name that jacks the price but that also jacks the resale so that's a wash IMO.
I think so. The hybrid Aguilar DB750 is quoted at 42lbs (although having handled one it felt heavier)Only 42 lbs? That's unusually light for an all-tube of that wattage isn't it?
Tim Cole said:Just got back from Tom's place (THANKS Tom!), and I have to agree with the positive thoughts in this thread. Tom pulled out some serious artilery including the Sad amp, and it won hands down on tone IMO. The clarity and definition are incredible out of this head, and the only other amp even in it's league was the Trace V-8.

Did the SA200 have enough juice for the HT322?
Everyone keeps saying the 322 is VERY power hungry and not sure if 200 tube watts would be loud enough

SMASH said:So, how were the mids in the "cutting range" there's no knob for? I like the idea of a tube amp that retains clarity - but any concern of it being scooped?

bucephylus said:1) Can Roger's amp be hopped up with the substitution of the 6550's?
bucephylus said:2) How does the SA 200 compare to the Mesa 400?
tombowlus said:Yes, it can.
