It's about 23 miles bigger in diameter at the equator than at the poles. Less than 1/2 of 1% of the total diameter deviation. Pretty damned spherical, but not perfect.
Some spherical planets, like Saturn deviate MUCH more.
If you want to study a little you'll find that not all of the distortion is due to the planet's spin. Some of it is due to gravitational attraction from other bodies. Interesting stuff.

"Spherical" is an adjective formed from the root word "sphere", so a spherical object has the same properties as a sphere.
Your reasoning would suggest that a wooden object is not necessarily made of wood.
Wrong. A 'spherical' object must simply have some geometric properties of a
true sphere. Perfect sphericity is not a requirement for admission to the Spherical Sphlounge.
If it isn't exactly spherical then it's spheroidal.
