I've compared the DB750 and Super Bassman.
Even tho the DB750 is a beast, it doesn't have the all tube feel of the SB. I dunno how one describes it exactly, but the SVT-VR, AD200B and SB300 all have that 6550 tube power section and to me it's a more solid, thick cushion of bass/ sound.
The Aggy is superb and probably my favorite non all tube amp...
But still...
I'll take the SB anyday.

I would say my DB751 get's more tubey as I turn it up...but it has to be stupid loud to start feeling like like a tube amp. Many people say the SVT has to be stupid loud to sound it's best...the DB751 has to be way louder.
Hey all. My 100t took a crap and it sounds like the autobias isnt repairable (waiting for confirmation from Fender). I LOVE the tone so I’m looking either the Super Bassman or the Bassman 800 to replace it.
I probably can’t afford a new SB so I’ve been looking at secondhand. I have my eye on one that has the original autobias (not V2). My question is how much does it cost to get the V2? I found one a bit further and for more money but it already has the B2 autobias. Wondering if it is worth it for the extra money and distance.
And for those have have played both the SB and B800… is the difference more in the “heft” behind the notes from the SB
And the quickness of the B800 or is there really a noticeable tonal difference despite them having the same pre?

For what it's worth, I have a SB300 with the original autobias which is still going strong.
I have the SB and the B800. In the band mix where I play, the difference is imperceptible.
There IS a difference though. I don’t think the B800 is “quicker.” Rather, the sound of the SB is “fuller.”

Yes. I had both side by side; played through 210s. SB300 just better, thicker, smoother. I found the 800 to be robotic and sterile by comparison particularly on the 2nd channel. It also feels like a toy. Get the real deal. I kept the 300
Literally getting ready to take pics of my SB300 (May 2020 V2 bias), to post up in the classified today. I can’t justify both the 100-T and SB300 as my bands don’t require the volume of the SB300.
However I don’t want to ship so hoping someone in the DC metro area is interested.
I use an old one from a 70s Bassman I had in the 90s. Somehow the footswitch is still with me.

I can certainly agree here.
I find it the same even with guitar amps.
A guitarist in a band I play in recently "upgraded", to a Vox AC15 from his previous amp, a Line 5 100w transistor 2x12 combo.
So, from 100w and 2x12's to, 15w and 1x12".
The difference is quite astounding. I can actually feel his rhythm playing now, as opposed to 'sort of' hearing it before.
Like with any differences between tube and solid state amps, it's hard to put into words. But I find it noticeably different.... better.
In bass amps it's pretty similar...imo
Boss FS 5L, or any latching footswitch. I sometimes use an FS6 also. One side for the channel switching, the other to activate my rack tuner housed with my wireless. All via a dual TS to single TRS cable.

does anyone know what fender serial numbers carry the V1 auto bias? And which serial numbers would start v2 etc?
The v2 Auto Bias was released mid-2016 and
