You guys may be right. I don't think I need a 610. Was considering a NEO 115 to pair with the 410 but understand the eq concerns. I already have a pair of Bag End 15s (one deep back and one s15D). May be I should sell those and get a pair of Berg NV115s. Too many options.

I run mine with either a Berg NV115 or a Berg NV215. Both combinations magic. I suspect two NV115s would be a slight improvement on the old NV215, with a tad more midrange bark. Go for it!

Does anybody use a Sansamp with this head? Does the head replace the pedal per se? How does the D.I. compare to a sansamp?

I gotta say I haven't used my VT Dlx pedal done having this amp. The 2 channels & OD blend has got me covered in that dept.
I'm tempted to try it with the pedals again soon but haven't yet.

Yea I've been soley relying on my bddi deluxe for tube saturation. I like using it as a di for recording too. From what I remember reading in this thread, I think, the di for recording out of the sb300 isn't colored by the tubes at all? Not sure if im correct in saying that.

recorded this track last sunday with sb300 d.i . /post preamp. i leave the cabinet plugged in and turn the master volume on amp right down , just to be safe..... and i dont know for sure if the sb300 can go all day with the speaker mute switch on and no cab plugged in

Anyone else have a problem with the vintage channel being quieter than the overdrive channel? Bad tube in the overdrive position? Pretty lame if its a bad tube already...only a couple months old.

I don't have the amp yet so I couldn't say for sure but it's my understanding that tubes can be very unpredictable so its not unheard of for a bad tube to come about this early on. Does kind of stink though.

geddy 402, it may just be the way you have the eq and extra gain set on the overdruve channel?? They are two separate and very different preamp circuits.

Here's a pic of my settings...minus the od channel at ten. I feel like they were the same volume at one point in time when I kept them at the same setting, usually 5 or 6 and adjust the master volume as needed. But its been a week or two since I played through it so I can't be sure.

I'm going to try some different settings on the od channel and see how it goes.

Those settings you've got the volume on the od channel full & vintage channel at 6?? Od channel will be MUCH louder.
Please explain? ?

Yeah my bad. The ten on the od channel was there because that is what equalled the vintage channel. The is was (more on that in a second) vintage louder than OD.
Just got done fooling around with the settings. Got it back to normal. The problems were with the mids. I cranked them both up to 8, treble at 8 and pulled out, gain at 4 and blend at 5 and have an absolutely killer sound coming out of the od channel. Played my 4001c64 though it and nailed the Chris Squire sound using my finger nail as the pick. Tried the jazz basses and it had a very warm but aggressive sound.

So with my new settings the vintage channel is quite, I'm thinking its because of the mid and gain boost adding volume.

Anyone have recommendations for channel volume vs master volume? I blew a speaker with my SVT3 pro by cranking the master and leaving the gain "low."

Can't see how you'd blow a speaker cranking master or gain. It's overall power that'll kill speakers not overdrive.

Played a HUGE cavernous hangar last Sat.
SB300 & NV412 again. Fan-bloody-tastic.
