Yes midwives can be a wild bunch. One midwife alone can be a wild bunch. In fact the same one is the 1st thing I see every morning unless she's out bringing new little ones into the world. Ok sometimes I dont see her because I've been banished to the couch for whatever, but thats another matter. ;)

I've had my SB300 rig for almost 2 years now, and I am still stoked on the tone, and variety of tones the dual channels provide. I've been A/Bing the head against my other stuff: Divided By 13, 65 Amps custom 200 watt, Aguilar 751, Orange AD200, 1970 SVT Blueline, and an Ashdown RPM pre into Ampeg SVT-300 all tube power amp. The Fender is so easy to get good tone out of. It remains the winner. The Orange is getting some action lately too. Those 2 are my favorites. I'm using the Fender Neo 810 cabs, but I had them install the regular magnet speakers instead.

The Neo speakers certainly are great, and yes, easier to lug around! My sound and setup just lead me to prefer the sound of the heavier speakers. Luckily I have some techs to help carry them.

I still have a stock Neo 810 cab, and it is lighter and easier to load than some smaller cabs. It's a good one!

so big thanks to Tim1 for redirecting me here, somehow I missed this behemoth of a thread! I'm gonna get the SB300 either through Sweetwater or AMS. Very much looking forward to it. I have two Ampeg 210av's that I gig with and an Acoustic Neo 1x15. What do you guys think of my cab situation with the head? The new fender 1x15 does sound enticing also. Haven't had much experience a/bing 210's vs. 1x15's since my 1x15 is at a friends, but this head sounds like it's killer regardless. Should do the genre of music I play in very well.

If think the Super Bassman would sound fanatic thru the 2 210AV cabs (or even thru just one) just be very car with your volume &/or bass eq. It's a very powerful amp & those are pretty lightweight cabs. They sound great but cannot handle a lot of power.
Same goes for the 1x15 cab
I use my Super Bassman with a 1x15 & sometimes thru a 1x12" & I, too, have to be careful with my levels & listen carefully for any signs of speaker fatigue.

You're right there, Rod. It would be very easy to pop a speaker, although common sense would normally prevent this (simply turn it down if the speaker is working too hard, as we all know). One of the things that I really like about this amp is that it can get a really good tone quiet without being cranked - there aren't too many amps around with that virtue IME.

yea the two 210's combined makes 400w at 4ohms, so I may be safe right? If anything, I would run the head at 2ohms just so the cabs don't get the full power draw (maybe I said that correctly?), especially if I run it with just once cab. The Acoustic is 450w by itself at 8ohms.

No. Match the impedance. Unless I'm mistaken & have been all my life, it's far better to match than not.
The amount of power reduction wouldn't be worth the mismatch. And unless you're running the amp real loud it wouldn't be pumping too much power into the cabs anyway.
Also realize these Amos can pump in up to probably 800-900w at bursts. So, as usual, use your ears. :thumbup:

KPO200, I have the Fender neo 610 which I run with the SB300 and I can assure you it is one great head with a wide frequency response and can handle just about anything you throw at it. I tend to use my Bergantino NV215 head more, but that is just because I prefer 15s and am a Bergantino nut. The 410 +115 usually does not work so well as the 115 gets half the volume and can have problems handling it for one reason. I prefer matching the same cabs personally, it seems to make eq'ing much easier. You won't go wrong with the Fender 610 and the bling factor is quite stunning :D.
