Agree with you Rod, I am fast coming to the conclusion that this is the best tube amp I have ever owned (and I have owned a few over the years). I really enjoy mine into the Berg NV215, so I can imagine it must be killer into your 412 ( I see George still has a 412 in stock at Bass Gear Direct - but have done my major gear buying for the year and the funds have dried up).

Hi Matt, unfortunately the guitard spent the weekend in hospital so everything went on hold (they are not as tough as we bassists :)). I will report back as soon as all is better with him and we can get together. I don't imagine that there will be any problem with that combo.

it'd be similar to my 3015 loaded PF115HE cabs I'd think.

They handle a real good amount of power. I very rarely need to take the 2 of them. I do, but I don't need to. :D:thumbup:
Two can let the SB300 go very loud n clean. One will handle a gob load but will allow the amp to dirty up a bit more easily. You can still adjust it to go clean n loud as it is surprisingly loud ( & clean ) when adjusted right.
I'd think you'd want the master up around 6 & channel up on 8 or more to stay really worrying the drivers tho.
That's my take. We'll await Tim's.

Had an early morning outdoor gig in support of the Lung Cancer Society. This being Phoenix it's still pretty hot outside even early in the day. We wrapped up about 10:30AM and the temp hit 100F.

The back and top of the SB300 were in direct sun for the entirety of the gig, and it held up like a champ. Tho the outside casing was hot to the touch, the exhaust from the fan was barely warm! No issues with the bias circuit either.

I'm digging this amp the more I use it .

Real world? ? So mine & Tim's world ain't 'real' enough. I know I lay real logs, dunno about Tim. :D:confused:;)

I sure don't gig 4× / week but I do about 6 or 7 per month. Just under 2/week on average.
I've not had a hiccup from mine.
As I've stated before, I was GOING to get an Ampeg SVT-VR but a few people told me some pretty interesting stories about some of them being unreliable.
As I'm here "down Under" I wanted to be sure with what I ended up spending my hard earned on.
The Fender SB300 was/is fairly new to this race so I couldn't get as much past info on it. But- the ppl giving me this info were very experienced in amps and with many different brands.
I'm glad I took their advice.
Not because I think I would've had any troubles with a VR, but because I think the Fender is every bit as good if not better for me.

Mine gets gigged or practised loud at least once a week. I have owned it for over a year and have played it side by side with an svt vr I used to own. It has never failed me. I am fast becoming convinced that it is the best all purpose amp I have played, it's versatility is amazing imo.

I'm getting that way too Tim.
SO versatile & yet uncompromising in tone & volume.
REALLY tubey & tubby if gain (channel volume) is up a little. But have that down around 5, crank the master vol up around 7 or 8. Wow it gets loud. And clean.
Agreed tho. Very sculptable.
I had the drive channel set up with a real mid forward but clean tone last gig.
Really aggressive, but still warm & tubey. Amazing!

First practice with the new rig last night. Very different tone than my other rigs. Love it. ImageUploadedByTalkBass1380205119.633410.jpg. I feel very lucky.
