The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

I had a gig t'other night where we played from 7-8pm in the foyer of a convention Centre, then 8.30-10.30pm we played in the main entertainment center room.
I was lazy & used my GB Shuttle 6.0 & modded PF115HE in the foyer & TH500 & 2 X AE112 Berg cabs in the main room.
So, sadly no SB300 use this week. :thumbdown:

Does anybody know what the freq. range for the mid freq. knob is? Like 100hz-5k or something similar?

The Vintage channel mid control seems to be centered around 600Hz. On the Overdrive channel, the mid range peaks range from about 220Hz to about 3.4kHz.

Only with the Neo 610 (other than hearing the SB300/410 combo at NAMM), but my guess is that you are going to love it!
Yup, that's my rig. I've played only three gigs with it since Sept, but it's been awesome, tight, full, and plenty loud. Wish it had the height of the 610 so it was closer to my ears, that's all.
I've got a Bassman 300 pro and 8x10 there is another 8x10 waiting for my return home 
I'm 100% nuts about the built in compressor, it's got an amazing way of shaping the tone, I've had the opportunity to play with tonnes of gear over the years (Bro owns a PA hire company) the day I played with that rig was the first day of the rest of my life hahaha. I can't wait to see the two fridges side by side. The fridge is a royal pain in the ass to shift but hey it's lighter than a 1/2 W. if anyone just getting started asked me, I would say forget all the half measures, save your money and get a real rig.

While it certainly has a plenty of grunt (and then some), it never quite worked for me like the SB300 does. Tonally and obviously (at least in the preamp section) quite different beasts from the same stable. I am really impressed with the new Fender neo cabs too, they are incredibly lightweight and easy to shift and the seamless nature of the crossover is a huge plus for me. I have played a neo 810 but was happy to settle for the neo 610 which will do 90% of my gigs, then I just double it up with the Berg NV215 if I am on an outdoor stage and need to move a little more air.
my sb300 and 610neo was used as backline for a outdoor festival on saturday it was used for 6 hours by 7 bands , it didn't miss a beat, no complaints , lots of compliments.
overdrive channel , i dont recall eq but volume and master volume at 4 1/2 each , id guess any more than that and you would need more cabinetry to handle it!
I'm using mine tonight with its regular partner the Berg NV412 I used it last weekend 2 gigs in same day. One was an afternoon festival gig & I let the other bands use my rig -SB300 & NV412.
everyone of the 4 other bands bassists sung it's praises to the max. They were all totally floored by it. Saying it was the punchiest they'd ever used.
The S.E. said it was effin fantastic. Flabbergasted!
The guy in the headlining band. . who were on after us-said it was warmer & tubier than his SVT-CL. Asking about the NV412 he said he appreciated his SVT 810's height but liked the NV412 tone more.
Like the report above, it didn't miss a beat for 6 hrs. She was running pretty hard for half of that too.
Love this amp.

I bought the Superbassman because I kept hearing about the amazing range of settings that this amp can produce. I do really like it.
I am curious because I saw that several stated that they could get a better Ampeg SVT sound out of the bassman than some of their Ampeg units.
Could someone please share with me the settings on the vintage channel that they are using to sound like an Ampeg SVT.

For me, this is page 16. So, because everyone has this forum configured differently, post #'s are more helpful.
