I have a 1212/6/1 here that I adore.
I'm curious as to how the big Fender sounds through a similar cab.

I have run it through my F210, but it's been a while .... perhaps I'll get a chance to revisit it and get a better opinion, because IIRC I was not overwhelmed the 1st time around. that was several months ago tho ... so we'll see what gives

I sometimes play mine through my 15/6/1 or 12/6/1. It sounds great of course, since it's a great amp into a great speaker. But it doesn't quite get that classic tube amp sound if that's what you're looking for. The sound most people associate with these big tube amps seems to be rolled off lows and highs, with a low-mid bump. I think it sounds great with the FF's, but not very vintagey or classic. Also, 300 watts (even toob wats) is not blazingly loud through a fEARful. I haven't played my fEARfuls lately, I'll have to pull them out and do some comparative listening.

When my back heals up, that is... Gonna have to use a supplied backline tomorrow because of that stupid back.

I have come round to thinking that the Super Bassman actually sounds at its best into the Fender neo cabs (surprise, surprise). It doesn't sound "bad" with other cabs, but IME its best match is into the Fender neo 610 and 810 - both of which I have owned and gigged. Can't speak personally for any other Fender neo cabs but others have reported a great match with the neo 410 and 115 too.
I am having a little love affair with the an Ampeg 212AV cab at the moment - it sounds great with Orange AD200, Ampeg V4 and Trace Elliot V4 but while it is fine with the SB300 the SB300 does not shine with the 212AV like it does with the Fender neo cabs. Similarly the SB300 sounds great with the Berg NV215 but I prefer it with the Fender cabs. Surprisingly, the SB300 does a fine job with an Ampeg 410HLF which is a notoriously difficult cab to control the bottom end.
I have never got a bad sound out of the SB300 into any cab, but its logical (and very economical/aesthetically pleasing) match with its own cab makes sense to me.

Interesting. Yep agree tho. Mine sounds fantastic into my Fender Bassman Pro 115. So does the V4B and the TH500 . It's a great cab.
I'd love to get the 610... But still have to 'Make do' with the Berg NV412

I don't think I would mind having to "make do" with the Berg NV412 lol.

The NV412 is great. But I'm still wishing the Fender neo 610 wasn't so darn expensive here in Aus.

Possible I suppose. .. dunno just how much cheaper it'd be. .. Nor whether my cruddy woodworking skills would do it justice.
I've got two Emi 3015s so maybe a couple of TL606 style neo cabs one day

Got to jam with the full band for a couple hours at practice on Saturday...WOW. This thing is a monster. I don't see myself ever needing to push the MV past 5...but we shall see

Got my first gig with it on Sunday and I can't wait!

I've had mine for about 7 months, its been recorded with, practiced with and gigged with. I love it.

I've only played mine at home, by myself so far.
I'm finding exactly the same eppirocker! I thought the Overdrive channel would be my favourite before I picked the amp up.
That Vintage channel, while more limited in EQ etc, just sounds nicer, more "classic" tube to my ears.

Any thoughts/comments on this head with Aguilar DB cabs? Tried the SB300 out today at the local shop with the neo 810 cab and it sounded amazing... Strongly considering bringing my 2 DB210's in to try it out but thought I'd see if anyone has used these cabs with the SB300 first.

I finally got to spend some quality time last night with the SB300 and F210. My earlier MEH impression has been disposed of . Turns out they are a pretty darned good combination after all. The chain I used was Ric V63 -> IE SubT -> IE ZeroD -> Smoothie -> Amptweaker Bass Tight Fuzz -> Tremolessence -> El Cap into the SB300.

It took a while to dial in those classic Ric tones that the SB300 and Neo610 produce out of the box without the use of pedals. I ended up having to a) juice the sustain and treble on the Smoothie and b) hike up the mid Freq to 9 and its level to 7 to get there. Even at that the timbre was not identical, as one might expect. Not bad, just a different flavor of good.

The F210 just loves pedals of any sort (as do any Fearless cab I've played through). The Ric through the Tremolessence and El Cap set to more of a wash that outright clean delay was superb IMHO. That combo coughed up a very Pbass-like Rockabilly timbre. I think Elvis would have liked it LOL.

Slight derail ... I'm think of splurging and getting a Fearless F112/F115 combo. Any opinions would be welcome.

Can't tell ya much re the a comparison, but ime, the SB300 matches up well with every cab I've tried it with. If think the 'vintage' flavor of the DB cabs would go very well.
