The Fiesta! Telebasstard

White5.gif

Nice ideas. The incorrect p-bass polepiece alignment drives me nuts:eyebrow:

Hopefully someone in production will catch & correct it:D

bassie12: someone has a sweet looking 5 string 'crooks custom' tele bass that i saw and had that same pickup configuration. the reason i liked it like that was because it flows with the body. on the regular p-bass, the pickups flow with the top horn. but since the tele has only one horn, the pickups flow with it. either way... if i produce these, at least in the beginning, it would be all whatever the customer wants, haha!

Could you do one in a fiesta redburst with a black pickguard, maple fretboard w/ black block fret markers, and one in an inca silverburst with a black pickguard, and ebony fretboard with dot fret markers? Both with chrome hardware, no matching headstocks.

Haha glad you like it man! No orders yet until I actually build my bass... haha. I don't know how I would produce them, I mean, I've never built a guitar body from scratch before. I wouldn't attempt to do the neck. That's what warmoth / allparts is for...

If this were to ever go anywhere, I could see it as me building bodies that are routed / painted for what the customer orders, and then I could even just send that over if they wanted to pick their own electronics, necks, etc. But I wouldn't even think of selling it until I can have a balanced, nice sounding bass.

there is fiesta red, the one on the left is what I want MY bass to look like. I'm not very good at the relicing thing... and only did it on the body so far but... you get the idea.

Ok, so my relics look more like they were thrown in the dirt (well, I guess that means they look legit ;)) I wasn't sure what you meant by Orange Cream swirl so the first thing I thought of was those little candy things

Are you making these basses.
Very cool.
If so, I would go for a Shoreline Gold.
Rosewood neck. (1 3/4 nut width)
Darkstar in the neck position.

Hey guys, this is going to be a custom bass that I'm going to build.
EDIT(Mark): You know what they say about assuming. It's not allowed unless you pay 20 bucks to become a supporting member.

So, here's the story: Telecasters look cool. I don't have a lot of money. My friend has some extra poplar. I like to 3d model. I like the color Fiesta red. I like how the Fender logo looks. I'm going to make this bass. I like custom, therefore, I combined the body of the Tele with the contours of the Strat.

The result? A 3d mockup of the one, the only, Fiesta! Telebasstard. Featuring a pbass neck, pbass pickups, custom made pickguard, badass II bridge, and schaller strap locks.

I can do any color anything. I could make it a green neck if I wanted. The possibilities are limitless! And it only takes a few seconds. So if you wanna see something, lemme know!

Enjoy!

Wow - that's well cool! I've always liked tele's. :)

There's something not quite right about the pickup though, to my eyes at least... - I think it might look better if the pickup was moved back towards the bridge a bit so that the back edge of the pickguard evenly split the two halves of the pickup.

The pick up position would definitely make the bass more of a "woofer" than a "growler"... not necessarily a bad thing. If I were to buy one, I would want a second pickup closer to the bridge.... maybe a MM style :)

yep, 3dstudio max is the program.

stoo - interesting idea, ill try that on my next renders

bassie12 - yeah, im still not sure what i want for my bass, as long as routing isn't a super hard thing to do, i'm sure i would offer a wide variety of pickups. of course, if i were to build these, cost would vary by a lot depending on what people would want. i obviously wouldn't rip people for labor, as im not experienced, but 1 darkstar pickup is $200! ouch!

Could you please do one for me with
an emerald green finish,
matching headstock,
maple fretboard,
gold hardware,
pearloid, or gold pickguard,
and with a p pickup where you have it, with a darkstar towards the bridge.

I'm betting that it'd look incredible.

hey, why dont you try and make it like this:
non-angeled pickguard and, for example, red finish with white pickguard and the pickguard should go between the magnets. then color the pu that's on the pickguard red and the other one white. i think it woud be great!
