The Fiesta! Telebasstard

Band Dad: I'm not sure if it has been done before, I haven't seen it, and certainly haven't seen it on a bass.

Johnny Alien: You're pretty much right, I was never planning on doing mass production of these. I thought about it if there was actually people who would buy it. I AM going to build 1 for me though, and if I can make sure it balances alright (because it seems the telecaster in a bass would be prone to neck dive?) then I would definitely like to try and send em out to people.

All your guys colors are coming up, doing the renders right now, my next post should have a bunch of pics!

Then I would say that you need to pay for a supporting membership right away.

Cool. Supporting is good even if you're not selling. Thanks for being a 'team player'.

There have been a few other tele shaped basses...the first to come to mind is the G&L, but there have been others as well.

And yes, they're prone to neck dive. You may wish to move the strap buttons to help it a bit. the rear one can be moved up the backside a few inches, and the front one may work better if attached to the body at the neckplate.

So, Sarnz, am I to understand that this hasn't been done before; a contoured tele body?
Did someone say G&L?

And Band Dad, I'm working on the Redburst w/ standard pickguard, and I just have to model a darkstar and I'll be there

Haha glad you like it man! No orders yet until I actually build my bass... haha. I don't know how I would produce them, I mean, I've never built a guitar body from scratch before. I wouldn't attempt to do the neck. That's what warmoth / allparts is for...

If this were to ever go anywhere, I could see it as me building bodies that are routed / painted for what the customer orders, and then I could even just send that over if they wanted to pick their own electronics, necks, etc. But I wouldn't even think of selling it until I can have a balanced, nice sounding bass.

there is fiesta red, the one on the left is what I want MY bass to look like. I'm not very good at the relicing thing... and only did it on the body so far but... you get the idea.

Ok, so my relics look more like they were thrown in the dirt (well, I guess that means they look legit ;)) I wasn't sure what you meant by Orange Cream swirl so the first thing I thought of was those little candy things

Still working on the RedBurst

Any chance you could do a Joe Strummer replica type thing or would the stickers and ware be too much? Oo, or a honey blonde type thing (like on a Highway 1)? I like when you do the different options with the one colour like you did for the Hot Rod. Of course, there are many people ahead of me in line here...

For the relicing you could see if TB'er "ibanezcollector" AKA "vintagedguitars" wanted to team up with you on the process. He's worked on one or two collaborations with Valenti basses.

I know this is a lot more work than just changing the colors, but any chance you could render a 5-string version?

I dig the design, but think that the bottom of the pg should not be angled - I'd make it straight across like an actual tele.

Also, I'd love to see some more retro colors schemes like walnut, transparent blonde, natural, transparent bursts, etc.

I'd also be cool of there was a single coil version - and it'd be even cooler if you offered a dual pup version with a 51 style single coil or a darkstar at the bridge position with a chrome Danelectro lipstick pickup at the neck position.

A string thru option would be great too.
