My baby - A Noguera "Expression" five string that I picked up in 1998 or so.

I've had a fair number of fretlesses and I also have a Godin A4 fretless, the the Noguera is one of my two "go to" basses. The other is my (fretted) P-Bass.

Thanks. I like that it's understated - no inlays, etc. Just some really pretty wood and a well executed, simple, elegant design. Check out that bridge. Pickup covers too, for that matter.
It's playing better than ever these days. I have it very well dialed in for my own playing.

P.S. - it's got a zero fret at the nut and a piece of fretwire past the bridge to keep the ball end of the strings from chewing into the body. It still counts as a fretless, doesn't it?

And yes, Wals need to be redistributed. As far as I know, there's a serious Wal shortage in Poland, I haven't heard of a single one here...

My fretless jazz, originally a Geddy Lee sig, added the neck from a mid-80's jazz special that had terrible pickups.
Added a tort pickguard too, as you can see.
Way cool, way smooth.
(PS. I'm loving all these unlined fingerboards!)

Did you just buy your Lakland on E-Bay ? I really wanted that bass. I was going to use buy it now but someone bid on before I was able to. The original owner worked at Lakland and told me it was one of the last made. He said they were out of the lipstick pickups so he put the current ones in it. He also told me these pickups sounded much better that the original lipstick ones.
Anyway sweet bass. How does it sound ? I wish I would have bought it.
i have a zon sonus 4 string unlined fretless. i think it the nicest basses that i have ever played. back in the eighties, i had the frets pulled from my only bass at the time, a yamaha, and played fretless exclusively for 10 years. count me in, please.
